TYRE MOBILITY KIT

Hello All,

Quick question for you all.

I have a 2016 GT which will be 5 years old at the end of March. In the last few days I have had a on screen notice to say Service Tyre Mobility Kit. Now in the 5 years of ownership I have not need to use this and I dont intend to use as I know its a load of rubbish and I hope at some point to purchase an actual spare spacesaver wheel.

My question is, has anybody serviced this and to be honest i think the service is to actually purchase some more goo from Fords. has anybody replaced and is it even worth replacing or just get my spare wheel and dump it.

I used mine, didn't really work with the size of the hole I had though. I then cleaned and refilled mine. The sealant has a used by date, my warning came up, you can reset it and chose how long you want it to warn you again.

You can’t get the refill easily in the U.K. Even my Ford dealer said “don’t buy it from us, it’s £80 and it’s the same as the cheap stuff from Halfords/Tesco”

Can second this. I got a puncture a few years ago in the ecoboost, tried the ford kit and it was useless, ended up grabbing 2 of the cans from halford for about £10, did the job well.
