I recall reading somewhere that TY was going to be offered for a limited period. Do we know if this means a year or longer? Depending on the time horizon, pretty much any color other than flat black/white/silver/red would be a 'limited run':-) I also noticed that with prior Mustangs yellow seems to occur selectively (1 instance or so for a few years in a generation)

Your right about that yellow being selective. I don't think its gonna be produced for more than a few years. I went on YMR to find out how many mustangs yellow there are and have came up with nothing so far but I will find out.

You can find all the colors offered on each model year Mustang here: http://mustangattitude.com/mustang/all_mustang.shtml

There are actually very few years in which some shade of yellow was offered: 1983-1986, 1991, 1992, 1996, 1997, 2007, 2008, 2014.

There are some years such as 1969 where 4 hues of yellow were offered (2 of those were special orders).

Very cool. Thanks for that site, Ford is def way more conservative than MOPAR with their delish bold colors - may have something to do with Henry Ford and his famous comment. Love the rarity of the yellow and it seems you cant go wrong with the resale either. Will make up for all the tickets it will attract!!!

I appreciate that! Yellow looks like a rare color except around the early 2000. I read that the other day about helping resale. That was a good read,I much as well go ahead and work extra hours at work to pay for higher insurance premiums for tickets lol.

Uh... what? You must mean very few years without yellow offered.

Missing 98 in there
My buddy has Chrome Yellow 98 Cobra Vert. The cars is factory color, I recall back when he purchased it. I also had a 98 Cobra vert and wishing I hadn't sold it. It was a black car with a black top and saddle interior. Only 61 were made
http://www.yellowmustangregistry.com has run numbers up to 2003

Going by the last 2 generations TY will be dropped after 2 years. Ford has always been very inconsistent with their yellows and the biggest problem has been limited general availability.

Canary Yellow for example was a GT exclusive for 94 and 95 and was dropped alltogether in 96. It came back for 98 as a GT and Cobra exclusive named Chrome Yellow (same color code). 1999 was actually the first SN95 year with general availability on all engines (again Chrome Yellow) only to be replaced by that awful piss yellow in 2000, which was a GT exclusive for 2000 and became general availability for 2001, 2002 and 2003.

In 2004 they came up with Screaming Yellow which was general availability also for the first 2 years of the new S179. But after 2006 there has basically not been any yellow for 8 frikkin years. That nailpolish stuff they called yellowblaze a few years ago doesn't count imo because it's brown. Now of course there was Schoolbus Yellow for 2013 but that was again limited availability exclusive to the Boss 302.

And in case you're wondering yes it has been a frustrating 8 years for me :D

And seeing as how Yellow has only accounted for 6% of Mustang colors in history, I'm very glad I went with TY for my 2015.
