Hi everybody - I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2015 50th LE and had an inspection performed, which called out two concerns for me. I've searched the forums and the interwebz, with only vague success, so I figured I ask the experts here for insight.

1. The hood latch (the "loop" attached to the hood) is partially black and partially white, appearing to have Wimbeldon White overspray on it. For you folks with WW cars, is it the same for you? I'm concerned the car has had paintwork done on the front.

2. ABS System DTC code U3003: 16-68 - it looks like the most probable cause is a dying battery (car has less than 1,200 miles on it) ... but when clumped together with the hood latch, could be more sinister damages/repairs lurking.

So, when you have a chance, tell me what you think, eh? Thanks a bunch!

I don’t have a ww car but….Doesn’t look correct to me on the hood latch paint two tone. Have the airbags ever been deployed?

Widening my search: it looks like the overspray on the hood latch (which I believe is called the striker...sorry) is normal. Here's a couple of the many pics from here.

my hood latch is the same.

As far as the ABS, I don't know what codes mine was throwing, but check to see if the hill start assist is working. It may be de-activated. Activate it, go on an incline, hold the brake, and let go of the brake. It shouldn't move.

My ABS speed sensor was out.
