Well, I've never really been a door snob, so just grab a spot at the end of where cars have stopped parking. However, I'll likely go even further out now, door dings are gonna piss me off.

Hope the wife doesn't mind walking the extra bit.

The big problem for me is that I park in a parking garage at work. Obviously they try to pack them in. I'm working on the parking attendant to make sure he saves me a safe spot, but I fear he won't always be there to help a bruth'a out. He drives a nice Merc himself. Having a smaller turn radius than my Jetta is going to take some getting used to as I've been parking my Jetta in tight spots for 6 years now and know exactly what it will and won't do.

Of course if I get to the lot too late, I have to double park and leave my keys. With the Jetta, no problem. With the Mustang, I'll just drive home. :) I wish it had a Valet mode, although I'd likely not use that for a good long while anyhow.

Yikes! I guess you'll have to find either a pole spot or a corner edge spot..at least only one side when get dinged xP.

What makes it worse is that the first week I had my Jetta, I got a crease on my right rear quarter panel. It's still there to this day. I really should have called the insurance on that one. I've gotten a couple really minor door dings since then, but nothing too obvious. It sucked that the big one happened straight away.

Fortunately, if I get there a little early, there are lots of pole spots to choose, plus, I may double park 'accidentally' for a while and see if they complain. It's not a super full lot as it is, so I'm hoping they cut me some slack. I know the normal morning attendant on my floor is a car guy, so he'll understand. It's everyone else that works there I have to train. ;)

Does any one know if you can adjust the turn radius? I know we may not know specifically on this car but maybe on the 2005+ mustangs. Or if any one has any knowledge of current trends on how most new cars' turn radius is or isn't adjusted.

In addition any one with experience that can inform us of any issue that may occur if the turn radius is changed. Thanks!

Vert unlikely. If there is any room Ford would have included it. You can make it less and I have done that on s196 for the track.

Honestly most people never use their turning radius. They can't back out of their own driveways into the street or it takes them three attempts to get out of a parking space. They need to learn to turn the wheel BEFORE the car starts rolling.

So out of curiosity, how did you accomplish this for the track?

I read that as vert = convertible at first lol. but im thinking you meant very lol. As for Ford including it, i see your point but im not sure if that's the case. Like you said, you made your turn radius wider (if im understanding you correctly. less would actually be better/smaller i think you meant more as in bigger radius). This leads me to believe Ford made it (mine in particular) wider due to the performance pack being meant for tracking and such which it seems most people prefer a wider turn radius for that though idk why when you can just not cut the wheel...but i dont track so that's beyond me any way lol. But yea all that being said, i thought they would have to until i considered that 19" no PP had a smaller radius than "performance package and 20"" <--- that quote also kinda left it in the air for me and solidified my thinking of it having been deliberately adjusted. That being said it made me think it can be undone... it's just a matter of how?

Moot point and I'm pretty you're wrong here unless you can list some source. Most people I've come into contact with definitely notice a large turning radius and don't particularly car for it. That isn't to say they don't live with it but they do use it when available, myself included. As for turning before your car starts rolling. Yea that will make up for some of it but it doesn't even come close to making the two equal. Either way that statement is like saying "Most people don't use a spare tire. They need to learn to avoid road debris and keep the tires full." I'm pretty sure most people still want their spare tire.

re-subscribing. Yea, it's not until you need/want the better turning radius that you realize how important it is  I really want to fix this but more important than that for me is to improve the speed of the steering rack. I hope the aftermarket provides a quicker rack. That or maybe a GT350 rack is faster and will be doable as a swap.

You can speed up the the rack as you put it or better said get more turn of the wheels to turn of the steering wheel and get more actually wheel turn by shortening the steering arms on the knuckles. The drift guys do this by cutting them off and having them welded back on shorter. Maybe some company might do this for you or make up new knuckles with shorter steering arms. But the drift guys often space the wheel farther out so they don't hit the frame in the wheel well.

Limiting travel for race track use is easy. Remove the steering rod ends and the boot make up some plastic sleeves and slide them over the rack arms, put it all back together the sleeves act as steering stops.
