If that is a functional ram scoop then it could be mess with the designed airflow through the engine bay by causing turbulence. All depends on how the air flows in the bay from factory. Personally the only hoods I do are reverse venting to allow hot air flow that passes through the rad to exit.

I agree, heat extractor hood all the way. Personal preference is Tiger Racing.

Is the Prosport turbo blanket on your website a direct fit for the EB turbo? It looks more like a universal blanket. Thanks.

Universal, there isn't a direct fit turbo blanket on the market yet. The factory shielding does a good job of blocking heat. Turbo blankets are really designed for aftermarket turbo's that are possibly heating up other components in the engine bay that might not of been there in factory configuration.

I do a quick search and I see these on MAP; http://www.maperformance.com/forced-induction/ (I apologize, I see you have to select it)

Now besides having no clue which to choose for the stock turbo, I'm wondering if it's even worth getting initially, hence why I'm asking your opinion on the matter.

well here it is
installed
one connection around the back of the turbo and fished a connection up from underneath to the rear upper hook on the blanket
it "fits" but takes some time to make it fit the way I have it (pictured)

removing the OEM heat shield is done from the top of the engine bay
the two obvious attachment bolts (13mm) are the 2 upper turbo to head bolts
there is also a torx bit bolt (T30) holding the shield in place under the turbo housing
it can be reached from the up top but you won't be able to see it
you'll have to feel around to get it

anyway
there is more coverage with this heat shield vs OEM
reduced under hood temps are most likely negligible but this at least looks much better

not much to update
looks 1000x better then stock
I have no data to back it up but I'd bet it does a better job reducing heat from the bay and nearby components than the stock piece
