Hi guys,
When getting a Tune from either from Lund or PBD, do you have to buy the "tuning device" from them, along with tune and CAI?
Secondly, do you have to specify to add a "trans tune" when purchasing a tune? Or would that be a part if the tune itself?
Thanks, Anthony

from my research and feedback from the forum members. You can buy your device from whoever you want but it has to be compatible with both companies. Only device is the RTD. But I don’t know if Lund locks it once you use their tune and if you device to switch to PBD I think you will need to pay to unlock it. I don’t think PBD locks the device. I could be wrong but from the many post I read seems like Lund is notorious for doing that.

You don’t need to buy a CAI, someone tuners sell packages but if you are only tuning for E85 i don’t think it’s worth it. Just buy your device and tune

You can use it with both companies you don't have to buy more credits.

do Lund can’t lock this device like they did with the ngauge?
People are saying they do you just need to go back to the stock file. I first had lund then I got a PBD tune, I didn't get any error with the RTD flasher software when changing tunes.

not worth it. Your stock air box is good enough just change the filter to a k&N filter. Once I go Force induction I will be getting a better air intake and 2” exhaust headers with 3 inch out

Yup skip the cai. Tuning device can be bought from any vendor you want but the device platform needs to match the one that the chosen tuner supports. If not changing fuels to e85 save the tune for a more significant mod such as long tubes where you actually get a significant increase in power vs a cai. Add a drop in in the already efficient oem intake and move to the next mod.
