So I have several ballsy friends(people who arnt afraid of warranty issues) that put a bama race tune on their GT and after racing and messing around with each other we found that a bama tune on normal mode on the GT was quicker but when we compared a race mode to a bama race mode aka the tuned GT we all kind of felt after the placebo affect that it didnt make it any faster and after a couple pulls against not tuned cars we kind of agree.

First off we all have aftermarket CAI's that work, no doubt and dyno'ed but do not think that bama made the race tune better than the race tune already on the Stang.

Is this a mistake on us? driver mod issue? or what do yall think?

If your saying that a stock GT is as fast as a tuned GT you might want to get to the track and do a little before and after test. I picked up 2/10s and 1-2MPH in the 1/4 over stock.

you have an auto, so maybe the tune changes your shift points, you also have 3.55 gears which would require a recalibration to be accurate since it is not a stock option, I feel that Ford's race tune that comes stock feels the same as a bama race tune.

thank you for your input but think your car is too modded in specific ways to be comparable.

I read this and hope this doesnt come off as tood reply.

There is no race 'tune' per se. The different modes do not affect hp/tq.

At wot, there should be no difference between normal and race in terms of acceleration. Assuming traction is not an issue.

From 1500-6300rpm it is simply wrong to say HP/TQ is the same, I cant spin tires with a blip of the throttle in normal or sport with TC off. But Race mode and any blips I can spin em. So I know it gives you more power over the hp curve, maybe MAX is the same but not overall.

The modes change the throttle positioning (among other things) so, yes there may be a difference in the way power is delivered under the curve - I really don't know.

But, as I stated, at wot, there will be no difference - I assume you were wot when doing your tests?

yeah always WOT, doing 0-60's with sticky tires and 30-120 rolls and got all same results, no clear winner, now in normal mode the bama kicked ass but not in race v race. But im not saying our tests are conclusive lol.

Why do you think 3.55 are not stock option? Came stock on my car.

I stand corrected, after some google searches it appears you can get 3.55 as an option which is a pretty stout gearing for the autos didnt know that. So i take back what ive said.

Race tune or normal tune does NOT give you more power. All the tunes you get from Bama are the same. The throttle sensitivity is changed and that's mainly it. So in "normal mode" when you apply say 50% throttle you get 50% in return. With the race tune say you apply 50% and you get 75% in return, thus making it feel faster.
