Hello all,
I have struggled with clutch engagement/disengagement issues for a while. It's been hard for me to nail down because 90 percent of the time, the car shifts great. Other 10 percent of the time, it's sometimes hard to get into first (with the car wanting to roll forward when it goes into gear) or has some resistance when wanting to come out of gear (could be any gear) sometimes. Then, sometimes if I'm downshifting from a higher gear, it's hard to put into a lower gear at speed. I could be at a light and go to put it in first and it doesn't want to go. I can release the clutch and then try again and it goes in. It's so strange.
I'd think this would indicate some clutch drag, but I don't think there is air in the line. This is what I have done so far with the trans, clutch and hydraulics.

Changed clutches twice. First was a spec clutch, which I ended up swapping out because I didn't like the engagement, but it did it with this clutch.
Changed to an LPXHD clutch, which I like much better and it seemed to improve my issues, but didn't completely solve it.
Stainless steel clutch line
MGW X spec/ flat stick
New Slave cylinders. Bench bled.
Put vacuum on the clutch/Brake Reservoir.
I've used Amsoil trans fluid, bg synchroshift II, and now on motul multi dctf.
The only thing that I haven't changed out is the clutch master cylinder. I haven't changed that out because I don't have traditional symptoms of a bad MC. There isn't any fluid leaking that I can tell, the clutch doesn't feel spongy, and doesn't stick to the floor. The only thing I can think of is that fluid might be leaking past the seals or something and it's not getting full pressure all the time. Maybe sometimes, depending on temp/fluid temp, there's enough pressure for it to work well, sometimes there isn't? Fluid isn't dark or anything either.
Only other things I can think of due to some reading on here is bleed the brakes as well since they share a reservoir, although I'm not sure how it would help, since they only share fluid.
I didn't lube the transmission splines when I installed the TOB and maybe it's binding? I know some people say to do it, others say not to. I didn't because I didn't want it attracting dirt and possibly having something bind up that way, but idk, maybe I should have.
A friend of mine who is a mechanic, but a GM guy said maybe the slave needs shimmed, but it doesnt seem like that is something that people with MT82s do. Anything outside the box any of you can think of for me to try?
Thanks for any help/ideas.
