It looks very odd imo. The whole idea behind the tribar pony design is that the pony in chrome contrasts to the colored bar. Making the bar in the same chrome makes the whole thing look like a shapeless blob. Luckily that should be an easy fix.

It does look like a shapeless blob. Squinting my eyes enough it looks like Texas.

No. It is Not a Pearlescent. It is a Three Stage Paint with a Tinted Clear Coat.
The triple in Triple Yellow is because they first paint it white and then yellow. This is done to get this pure bright yellow, with no base coat shining through.

Personally I think it's a lot of hassle with a disappointing result. But not the greatest yellow is still better than no yellow at all, which we had to suffer since 2007.
I thought the triple in Triple Yellow is because it's a tri-coat of the actual yellow paint??
:help: Is there a link to the process? Has Ford elaborated on it somewhere, or have they just said it's a "special" process as they're apt to do? Is it proprietary or just novel? I wasn't a big fan initially, but some of the natural light photos in this thread have changed my mind... especially the latest ones on page 25. Beautiful! Any link to actual information would be great if it's out there. I've looked and can't find much related specifically to this paint. :frusty:

Thanks for the post. Yeah, I read that too but it is vague about the actual process. I'm just a goof when it comes to some of this stuff.. It's fascinating the chemistry and optics involved in creating an effect of depth in what is essentially a very thin substrate. I just think it's cool and want to know more. :)

I just Do Not Understand why Ford is Leaving the RED, WHITE, & BLUE Off of the Tri-Bar Pony Emblem...It just looks Cheap and Doesn't follow Past Mustang History. Not to mention It's Downright Un American.

This is a pre-production car, made for Canada or Euro Spec. I'm sure the final USA version will come with the "American" Colors.

Perfect comparison, and it tells me this other thing I dont like about it, besides the lack of color and awkward placement (kinda). The pony itself it too big. The tri-bar ponies of the past have always had the big bars behind a relatively smaller horse. On this... its the same size horse as the EB cars... and looks like the bars were an afterthought.

EDIT: Fixed it kinda

A thought….

This car was in Canada. They plan to sell the car overseas as well. Maybe all export ones will get the silver bar and USA only vehicles will get the tri color bar instead. Red white and blue for the good old red white and blue. :)

Or being a pre-production car it doesn't have the final rear badge yet either.

Thats a possibility. I remember some of the preproduction c7s had fully silver flag badges but the production ones are painted indivdually by hand.. I doubt they would go to that extend, but it would be plenty awesome! Lol
