This is just an observation about the trip computer on my 2018 GT; in urban driving my actual fuel economy calculated "by hand" (well, using pump values for fuel used, and the odometer reading for miles driven) is consistently about 1 mile/gallon worse than the fuel economy the trip computer reports for the corresponding tankful. Through Google, I found several posts by Ford 5.0 truck owners who also said that their actual mileage tended to be 1 to 1.5 mpg worse than the trip computer's calculated value. Was just curious if anyone else has compared the trip computer to their "manually calculated" fuel economy. I've only used premium fuel (93 octane, although it's "up to" 10% ethanol).
Regardless of how it's being measured, my fuel economy is not as good as I expected. In town I'm tracking 1-2 mpg worse than my 2011 Mustang GT (A6). Which is surprising given the direct injection and the 10-speed-auto. Maybe the 3.55s (and driving too much in Sport mode) are killing it, plus my 2018 is heavier.
