I'm pretty sure the answer is yes to this but wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone can provide any additional insight...

My brother's 2017 Mustang GT just got delivered and was fresh off the truck, not prepped yet. It was still in transport mode as indicated on the message center. When we went for a quick test drive, it was noticeably down on power. My experience with my F150 and my current Mustang was the same. I told him not to worry about it, that it will have much more power after they take it out of transport mode.

I'm assuming I'm correct...right?

(BTW-my new GT is on it's way to me as we speak...can't wait!)

I want to know about this transport mode, how to set it... so I can put it in that mode whenever the car is given to a valet!

Never heard of transport mode... Have you driven any other stang gt's before? The coyote can feel a bit soft down low around town, especially with the base gears.

there you go

4. The Transporter

We have long known about GT500s not producing full boost until they are driven for a while. However, it is interesting that the new Mustang also has a Transport/Factory mode to ensure it isn’t involved in any shennanigans between Flat Rock and your driveway. However, if your car isn’t acting quite right, this mode might be the culprit and it will show up on the information display.
“Your vehicle is still in Transport or Factory mode. This may not allow some features to operate properly. See an authorized dealer,” says the manual.

Use your "My Key" function on the unused fob. You can put all kinds of limits on that fob.

Pretty sure, performance wise, with my key you can only set a maximum speed limit. Which, I believe the minimum is 65mph...

Driven many gt's and currently own a 2016...ordered and waiting for 2017. Transport mode is known and I have seen even on my f150. You probably haven't seen it cause it's cleared as part of the pdi. This gt has the performance pack with 3.73 rear. My current gt has 3.55 rear. This definitely was way down on power. Has to be related to transport mode.

I can definately understand that most people haven't seen this...you would only see this if you custom ordered and then drove the car right after it came off the transport truck. It's cleared as part of the post delivery check and inspection so I'm not worried. Just wanted to see if anyone else can confirm my findings. Same thing observed with my f150 with ecoboost... way down on power when transport mode enabled. Hoping someone here has the inside details to everything transport mode does to the car?
