Trans Temp Gauge

On the digital dash transmission temp gauge (A10) I noticed something that appears intentional by Ford, as I've not seen it on the other temp gauges. Notice the break in the arc.

I've been unable to find a reason for that feature from the owner's manual, but I'm guessing the break is to indicate recommended minimum temperature for spirited driving.

Agreed, I wait til the trans temp is at reg oper temp , before I switch my driving up a notch . I wouldn't even consider it spirited at this point , another 2 notches is my spirited mode.

It takes 30 minuets or more to achieve that temperature here in Northern Ohio.

Now in the winter Arizona Desert temps in the morning are low 50s and about the same 30 minutes, so by the time I get to my destination Cars n Coffee or Car Show ,Im almost at NOT, hours later by the time I'm halfway home (afternoon temp 70 ) she's up to NOT and I'll switch drive mode to Sport+ .

spirited driving is the most fun and quickest way to get it into spirited driving range.

The way I've always seen it.

Blue = Hey buddy, take it easy.
White = Have at it buddy, I'm ready.
Yellow = Hey bud, lets take it down a notch.
Red = Dude, seriously, WTF are you doing, cut it TF out...NOW!
