I was goofing around with the gauges feature, looking at the different temperature reading etc. ( And wondering why I need to know the temp of the intake manifold ?). Referring to oil temp someone earlier mentioned that it's important to let these engines warm up properly because 10 qts of cold oil takes a while to warm up. So I go for a nice quiet drive and the heat is working great/ all the temps seem to be in range, but the trans oil temp took a good 10 minutes to get into the "blue" range. It was 33 degrees, and I was driving the car gently. I'm really glad I noticed this because from now on, I'm going putting it into Sports Mode or pushing it hard for a good 10 minutes or so of driving.

That's normal. The trans temp does take about 15 minutes of driving to get into the "safe" zone before you can get on it.

Yes, what gmupatriot said. Mine sometimes takes longer than 10-15 to get up to temp depending on the temperature outside. I always let mine get to 125-130ish before giving it more throttle.

Thanks ElCid and gmupatriot; I'm glad I noticed that and I will follow your advice about letting the trans really warm up.

Yep, same here it takes 20-25 minutes of driving just to get it into operating temps.

My Truck is like that also. I start the car/truck and let it warm up for 20 seconds or so and then I Baby it for ten minutes before I beat it on it.
