Traded Ecoboost for GT... never been happier!

Hey guys. I've been around here for a little while now as some of you know. I had a base ecoboost in race red. Yesterday I traded for a base GT in DIB. I have never been happier and wish I would've gotten the GT from the beginning! The DIB is such an amazing color and imo a much more grown up color than the race red.

The ecoboost was a fun car, plenty of power and was fairly quick. However I like modding my cars and when I put an exhaust on... that was the deal breaker. It sounded so bad to my ears. I was actually embarrassed to drive it because it had such an annoying exhaust note. I had big plans for the car but just get past how it sounded.

But let's move on to why I'm posting in this sub-forum.

2015 GT base 6spd manual. No performance pack or recaros. I didn't get the PP because I have no need for the brembo's. My wheels won't fit over them and I do not plan to track the car, and I also did not want the 3.73 gears. I did get the 3.55's, enhanced security and park assist sensors. I already ordered eibach sportlines and going to be picking up a MBRP exhaust very shortly. After that I have plans on hitting the rest of the suspension and chassis, better pads/brake fluid, and then eventually a supercharger (leaning towards the whipple).

What type of hit did you take on the EB? I saw the parts you had, no wonder why it sounded like crap with that catback and catless DP. I'm actually coming from a 2013 5.0 DIB premium manual w/ borla S type catback, steeda catless H pipe, and full bolt-ons and that sounded amazing of course but I've been down that road already and wanted something new and fun to try.

I now have a Magnaflow street series catback with a MAP cai and the Boomba BOV adapter and trust me it sounds badass lol, you had a raspy set-up so that's probably why you were turned off by the car.

Hey all that matters is that you're happy! Hopefully MPGs aren't an issue this time around. Enjoy the new beast! By the way I'm not defending either the EB or GT, if you had big plans with the car then you should've gotten the 5.0 to begin with.

I agree with you about the exhaust. I have the ecoboost w/PP and I love the car . The exhaust note of the aftermarket kits are not my cup of tea. I will probably do what I can to keep it quiet . I will probably do alot of other mods but sadly the exhaust won't be one of them.

I have a V8 86 capri so if I need the grunt of the v8 I'll just have to take that out ....

4k. I got a killer price on the DIB. just a smidge over 29k. Perks of buying from a volume dealer, certified roush/shelby dealer too, and working for the company that transports a fairly large amount of vehicles for Ford. MPG is never an issue, if it was I would be driving a hybrid lol. Also I didn't buy the ecoboost for fuel economy. I was contemplating on replacing the WMS pipe with a UR Catted one and having them send me a resonated center piece of their exhaust. I think that would have sounded much better.

It honestly was a lot more than just sound. I'm not going to explain any further than I wasn't happy with the EB as I don't want this turning into a Ecoboost vs 5.0 thread.

Congrats on getting the car you wanted. I enjoy my ecoboost. I'm not trying to have a super fast car though. The gt definitely fits that bill better if performance is your top priority.

I had a ruby red Eco also ...Could not take the sound of the 4 banger ..Turned it back in and got a GT ...Only thing I miss about the eco was the ruby red color ..Didn't cost me a dime to trade it back in because they had a no questions asked 3 day return deal ..If you don't like the car for any reason you can bring it back and got all your money back .. Lucky for me ..
