TPMS Trigger?

So I'm a total noob when it comes to wheels/tires. I was speaking with my father and he said in addition to the TMPS sensors I need something called a trigger? Anybody know what he's talking about?

Have no idea. I have never heard of that. TPMS are pretty straight forward. Once tire pressure gets below a pre-determined pressure, the light comes on. Usually, that pressure is about 5pounds.

I've had TPMS trigger at about 12 pounds before.
