I got new rear tires and had OEM TPMS put in those wheels, but not the fronts since I wasn't replacing those tires. After install, the tire pressure screen was reading about 6 psi low on both rear tires, and was also picking up a front right reading somehow even though there was no TPMS installed in the front. Two days later, I'm getting no readings at all. Do all 4 wheels need to have TPMS to get correct readings, or is something else wrong?

Yes you need a tpms reset tool, any local tire shop should have that and can easily reset them for you takes 3 minutes.

I thought the tpms would reset itself after some driving?

No reset. I was under the impression that the TPMS is self learning, as posted by basically everyone on this forum.

Thats the thing some do and some dont the OEM do most of the time, but there are times as you see here that they wont sync and a reset is needed to finalize it.

Thanks for the heads up. I think it's also confused because there are only two sensors, and maybe that prevents it from learning on its own?

That could very well be the other issue as well.

if the vehicle only has 2 out of 4 sensors then it feels there is a issue and will not register.

It needs all 4 sensors ( original) and or new for it to sync up just right.

Thats what's happening. It won't even go through the relearn procedure because it starts front left....and the fronts don't have sensors. I'll have to wait until it's time for front tires. It's just weird that they started out reading a pressure (even though it was wrong) and then stopped. Thanks for the help!
