Hey guys,

I've got an issue that I can't seem to find any info on. I have velgen vmb9 that I purchased through Hypermotive, along with OEM TPMS to put in them. When I went to get my tires put on, the tire shop couldn't get the TPMS through the valve stem hole. Both Hypermotive and Velgen haven't been much help, other than saying they've never heard of/had this issue before. The shop used some leverage to try and get them through, but didn't want to force them too much and risk breaking the sensor. Has anybody else had this issue? Any ideas? I'd rather not have to get bands and barrel mount them if possible, but if I have to I will. Almost time for new rears so I figured I'd ask.

We have this occur sometimes, the OEM stems are a mission to put on what you need to do is lube and I mean A LOT of luve around the stem. The have them use the tpms tool and pull while another person uses a blunt flat object to push, takes some brute strength but it can be done.

What's the risk of breaking the sensor doing that?

if they push tooo hard and or dont know what their doing they can snap a sensor, but honestly its the only way to get the oem stems in. Ever setup we do with oem sensors we have to do this which is about 5 to 10 setups a day. Fun stuff and a hell of a work out if I may say.
