TPMS is the 2016 the same as the 2018?

Can anyone confirm if the 2016 TPMS is the same as the 2018 TPMS? From my research it may or may not be.
I have found a set of wheels that is from a 2016 for my 2018, but not sure if the TPMS is the same.

I haven't seen anybody report any difference or any issues putting 18 PP wheels and tires on their 15-17 cars.

I heard the GT 350 TPMS is different than the standard mustang, but I can't confirm that. So take it as you will.

The S550 2015+ is the same

The GT350 is a different sensor however but the same from 15 and up
