I am looking to install a ZL1 tow hook on my 2017 Non-PP 5.0 California Special.

Would this be the correct product? Will it work on a CS model?
https://zl1addons.com/collections/f.../mustang-gt-feather-light?variant=36580965761

I noticed there's a PP option, so I assume this would be the correct link for the non-PP.

Would the "front only" option be the one where I can mount it offset to the right of the bumper?
I do not want the "front center mount" because it looks like a nose ring on the front.

Also, I know there will be cutting of the front grill to extend the tow hook. However, I believe the CS grill has larger openings.
Has anyone installed on a CS model before? Any cutting to the CS grill?

Lastly, anyone ever had to been towed out on the track with the ZL1 tow hook? Did it work well?

Thanks guys.

I’ve heard others have had theirs bent when towed with at the track. I think they came up with a new design which has worked well. Front only option is the offset one

Do you know if the one I linked is the new design one? Do you know of a specific thread that talked about failure of the old design one?

It was a few years ago so I think all they sell now are the new designs. You should be fine

Quick update to this thread. If you have a California special, and you are installing a ZL1 add-on tow hook, you will NOT need to cut into your grille. Hope this answers the concerns for anyone who has a CS trim.
