Not an exhaust update, but I ordered a JLT cold air intake and had time to wrap the ā€œheat shieldā€/air diverter box in DEIā€™s gold reflective heat tape. Idk if itā€™ll work, but it looks cool lol a little rice never hurt nobody.

Looks awesome! I have one of those too, you should make a temporary lid to put on it when there is not a lot of airflow and it is hot out, I.e. around town during summer. In that case the JLT design becomes a hot air intakeā€¦ I have seen a big difference between lidded and unlidded on the IAT gauge

I have some on the exterior as well, I ran out of tape and have to order more lol

As for the lid, idk how I would even go about doing that, I have some plexiglass left over. But I guess I could use little hinges. Idk how I would get it to seal though.

Horrible Update

So I blew my clutch Friday night messing around with some buddies on the Tollway doing 40rolls, got the car towed to my shop that night, ripped the transmission off the next morning ā€” soon as I got the bellhousing loose, bits of the clutch just started falling off lol so I blew it to bits, this is the first time Iā€™ve ever blown a clutch or a clutch as ever gone bad on me.

But too take the transmission off, the exhaust system and driveshaft have to come out before pulling it. So I figured while everything was off, I should probably just go ahead and install the BBK headers as well.

So hereā€™s a few photos of the pressure plate, clutch fiber bits on the floor, and a badass photo of my MGW shifter mounted onto the transmission. I didnā€™t have time to take good photos of the headers installed sadly, cause it got too late and lighting was very poor.

Look how bent the teeth are lol

Ordered everything last night, the mustang will be getting:

- McLeod RST Twin Disc Clutch
- McLeod Lightened Steel Flywheel
- McLeod Stock Style Hydraulic Throwout Bearing
- Ford Performance Roller Pilot Bearing
- SR Braided Stainless Clutch Line

The RST seems like an overkill clutch for my power level and what I do with the car, but I figure I should just upgrade everything while itā€™s all torn apart and have access to everything. I opted for the lightened Steel, cause itā€™ll take more abuse than the aluminum.

Everything should be here April 5th or 6th according to American Muscle, so everything is still on schedule for doing the exhaust piping next weekend.

I have seen a big difference between lidded and unlidded on the IAT gauge
I use a JLT.. IAT's are a little higher when idling, but once you start moving it drops fast, in town it's actually on par with stock, on the highway it a couple degrees from ambient, better than stock.
