I know there's a couple posts after this one but I was just asking to see if they had any planned updates they're currently working on. Maybe some we haven't heard about.

I know others have had issues with brightness and such. I don't think I have this issue. Actually I will ask for those who do have this issue is it possible that you leave your headlamps in "Auto" mode? (Headlight switch turned all the way to the right) I think it dims when you have it set to auto on/off.

There's the play/pause button in Chinese as well. Just seeing if there's been any progress on those small things.

I think I'm with a lot of people on getting a Sync3 theme up and running. That's what I'm most excited and waiting patiently for.
I think that's fixed in the firmware update posted. As for the Sync3 Theme, I don't even know what it looks like to mimic it.

I'm just talking about little stuff on the entire GUI. The arrows, color of shaded menus, etc. I should be able to pull them off, edit and replace them, if I can't do it manually, I'll repack them in the skin file and use the update file to fix it.
I see... It's pretty easy to modify them. However you just need to be-careful for the size and resolution.

I haven't checked the headlamp switch yet. If this fixes the issue then it could be something else. I need to check on the unit. Personally I drive with my unit on the default brightness (Which is 50% I believe). Another update coming is the WiFi on the unit. Still waiting on the manufacturer... I have the drivers ready to go! Whenever the Internet works then I'll check for Waze and Google Maps (However I'm sure most of you guys will prefer Waze). For the Chinese button this is where it gets interesting... A couple of days ago I played some music from my phone with Sync and the song was in French... In French we use some accents on some words/names. The artist showed up half French and half Chinese. After I looked at the file how it was named. I saw it had an accent on the letter "i". It shows up on my computer as "Maître Gims" but on the Tomtop it showed like the picture below.

The Chinese character for the Mute/Play button could come from somewhere else. I'll look at it whenever I have time and the car lol.

The Sync 3 theme is on Pause right now. It's hard to work on everything at the same time so I do a little bit here and there every time.

I don't have the Mute/Play button in Chinese at all. When/Where is this seen?

I did forget to mention that you can see this is in the Sync media player. I have an older iPod that I use for all my music that I have plugged into the center console (arm rest).

I haven't tried the CD player. Is the Play/Pause in English there?

I only use FM and Pandora, neither of which has a pause. I will try using Sync Media player and see what happens.

We still have sensible data but... hey! a nice VM with whatever crap you wanna access is all good! You're isolated from the network and the servers...

I am an admin, but the DoD owns this network.

Here too but you have ways around it! (However we're not totally linked to DoD...) Check again I re-uploaded to another host (My private one. I usually use google that might be why they blocked it lol)

Thanks

Hey guys,

Just had to login to say thank you to all of the guys working on the fixes for this unit. I took the plunge myself. Got everything installed in a little over two hours. I was able to update the maps and add my own startup image. :headbang: Probably wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for this thread.

Alright, So I digged a little bit more in the code and discovered some interesting things! It seems that the unit comes with a Cortex-A9 (CPU) which means it has an architecture ARMV7. However the coding says the opposite! The unit seems to have an ARMV4i. ARMV7 seems to run most-likely WinCE7 (not sure about WinCE6). ARMV4i seems to support WinCE 5 & 6. Anyways... I also found out in 2 files a Chinese IP. Right now it's fine because the lines are commented (Inactive). However I'll be careful for future updates! It also seems that it's looking for the port 8808. The port 8808 if open on TCP can allow exchange of user's data on the server. For right now we don't really need to worry about it since there's no WiFi on the unit... Also, I modified 2 XML and corrected the "Phone Connected". Here's the changes:

8h3wowEuDjt-3exiqxi2MmdpII-sVl8eqZZZHQlMwUNXdan4JDWibnr4xLWVM9H55S407GUesA=w2560-h1600-no.webp

This is just a random thought that hit me- That code you're looking at with those directories.. I think those are directories on your local machine, not within the unit, and the ARMV4i would be part of your emulation. I browsed through the file structure on the unit, and didn't find Program Files (x86) and that's when it clicked- that only exists on 64bit computers, and these TomTops definitely aren't running WinCE 6.0 x64... ;)

I am trying to see if I still have a Bluetooth keyboard somewhere, or perhaps the USB may recognize a standard one, if not I'll try activesync. That, coupled with changing the autostart info should let us in to the WinCE desktop.

It just means that the company that made it was running an X64 bit OS. This weren't opened from my emulator. Those are encrypted files from the .cab before I was able to install it on the unit. I'm not that stupid lol. Wince is an X86 OS (X86 A.K.A 32bits OS)
