It just means that the company that made it was running an X64 bit OS. This weren't opened from my emulator. Those are encrypted files from the .cab before I was able to install it on the unit. I'm not that stupid lol. Wince is an X86 OS (X86 A.K.A 32bits OS)

Okay, I wasn't trying to imply anything about your intelligence, I must have just misinterpreted your thoughts in text. I hate that I'm sitting here at work, I get all excited to go home and dive deeper into it, then I get home and "life" happens. Kids, wife, dogs, etc- then I don't have time to mess around.

Can we have a real discussion about what the goals versus the capabilities of the unit are? I say this so we can set reasonable expectations out of experience with the hardware versus what people want/think can come of messing with this.

Basically I'm looking to know if we are wanting to do a new GUI layover, if it can even handle it, whether we can run Android eventually or are we thinking CE is the way to go etc. I wish I had more experience with this but programming as been an on and off affair for me for years.

Android is unlikely. I don't want to say impossible, but it would take someone with a lot more expertise to create a ROM for it, assuming the hardware would support it, and with the limited 128mb storage it has for the OS, I'd personally say "It's not gonna happen."

A new GUI? Absolutely doable. Even with the limited about of storage, the look and feel could definitely be changed, but it would be on a case by case basis- One person who wants it to look "this" way would require all the changes to be done, and then a person who is okay with it "this" way, but slightly different, it would require more work. It basically would require pulling all the GUI files over to a computer, editing them to the desired look without going crazy on image sizes, and repackaging them into an updated "restore image" that would reinstall everything to the unit. That's probably the most painless way.

You're totally right! However we will still have to deal with volatile memory/storage... Android could run but probably an "OLD" one lol let's say kitkat would be a miracle...

Interesting. I'll ask a couple hardware guys I know what sort of ideas they make have for improving whats already there. See if they think it can get better.

I think a custom GUI, something with a bit more class and flair, would be huge on this thing. Utilize a wifi link powered waze app. Yea.. It'd be a hot seller. I simply don't care for the Sync2 theme.

Oh yea it depends where you were in Paris but it could be pretty messed up sometimes lol. Nice Place but people not some much... They are all close minded Lucky enough I grew up in a family that was kinda opened lol. Actually my Wife is from Austin Texas and then I brought her to Paris for almost a year. Then we went to visit her parent here in US and oh Man I fell in love! People are so kind and so much more opportunities and nobody is judging you. I mean just look at this forum Y'all are pretty nice and don't judge my bad English lol. I know it can be hard sometimes to understand me (even my wife because I have also a weird logic of doing stuff...) but my wife is double checking my grammar from time to time that might be why it took you a little time to guess I wasn't native haha. If you ever go back let me know I'll help you out for what place to go and mostly at what time lol. Anyways sorry for the Hijack thread lol.

I basically show that I'm able to saved the backlight setting. I did about 3-4 different test with a reboot at each one of them. It finally saves!

So, this is random, but maybe it's normal operation. Whenever I adjust anything on the HVAC, the screen switches to the HVAC display but only for 2-3 seconds. I can't actually get to that screen and STAY on that screen. Is that normal operation?
