The maps and nav app from the TomTop unit are several years old. Last night I updated mine (with the help of madwarren).

The process was a bit of a pain in the ass, so I've tried to make it simpler.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

-WinRAR, or a means of unpacking an archive
-This file: https://mega.nz/#!M9owTSBY!-Fgze2nQ6jMzT7ZI7ltzhiUqOWaSJ2-nQSk3k2KqjbY
-A means of reading/writing to a microSD card on your computer (or even phone)

Start by downloading the file above. Extract it to a folder you can access easily.

Then pop the microSD card out from the TomTop unit (it's in the little vertical slot on the left side of the screen; press on it, and the card should eject).

From here's pretty easy. Just copy the entire contents of the extracted folder over to the root of the microSD card. You don't even have to delete the existing files. You'll end up with a folder:
blaupunkt_igo_primo_v9.6.13.491814__18_feb_2015_crkd

Go back to your car, insert the microSD card into the TomTop unit, and power up the car.

On the TomTop, go to SETTINGS | NAVI SETTINGS and select Navigation Location (or whatever that button is).

Press the STORAGE button to access the MicroSD card, navigate to blaupunkt_igo_primo_v9.6.13.491814__18_feb_2015_crkd, then Blaupunkt_iGO Primo v9.6.13.491814 - 18 Feb 2015, then press on MobileNavigator.exe.

This will change the location of the executable. Back out of all the menus, go to HOME on the TomTop screen, press on NAVIGATION, and follow the on-screen setup instructions (super-easy).

That's it! That should be all there is to it. This is easy and reversible.

Some of my button labels may be off since I'm writing this from memory based on when I did this last night. If necessary I can make a video on Monday (Mustang's in the shop this weekend).

Please let me know if there are any problems downloading the .RAR. I've tried to make it as straightforward as possible.

Something in my IGO Primo corrupted, so I gave this GPS a shot. I came across this neat crash on my unit 2 times now. When I acknowledge that I've reached my destination, the screen flips to a large power button on the left. I push the power button and the unit starts to exit navigation, then locks up and audio still plays. Turning the car off, opening my door, starting my car did not get the unit to recover. I waited around a minute, then started my car again, and the unit started to respond. I wonder if your unit would do the same.

That sounds like a firmware or hardware issue! Yikes! That's the moddiction unit you have?

Mine didn't do that when I tried these maps, granted it was only for an hour or so while I was waiting for my nextgen file to download. I'm much happier with nextgen btw

Hmm, I sure hope its not HW based, but interestingly enough the primo issue popped up after I put a destination in but just shut the car off. I did not confirm reaching the destination.

Now I'm concerned. Im considering the nextgen software, but if this issue occurs across the board, then I don't see it doing me any good and I'd like to exchange the unit. Wish I could trial the nextgen software to find out. Or get my hands on the stock Primo files.

My unit does not say "Storage" anywhere to choose where the location of the software is. Can you show how you did it because maybe my Tomtop has a new update...?

Wish I never touched it, now I lost the original NAV software and Primo wont show up now.

I think one use of the SD card and it's already junk because I put a normal size SD card in my reader and it worked instantly.

Can someone upload whatever else I need on that card that came with the Tomtop, gotta get a new mini SD card tomorrow it seems.

Okay, so photos are uploaded. Yes, I just went out to my Mustang to take these photos with my cell phone. No, I wasn't wearing a shirt. You'll have to deal with my pasty chest in the reflections. That's your cross to bear. Also, yes, a few weeks ago I smashed the nail on my left index finger. It's just a subungual hematoma, I'm not going goth.

This should be step-by-step after you've copied the directory to your microSD card and inserted it and started the unit.

Once you've changed the location, back all the way out to the home screen and start Navigation!
