Has anyone tried updating there firmware using the file Edwin received. I don't have my unite installed yet. Just wondering what version date it is and what it fixes.
Where did all the earlier installers go? Seems like they disappeared.

I have not tried,
but I don't have the files and don't know how I would go about updating it....

I am done messing w/ it.
On mine, if I plug a usb drive on the cable from the unit and try to play the music, I get no sound at all, but it is reading and acting like it is playing.
It displays the name of the song and artist.
If I plug the usb drive on the factory location it plays perfectly.

I am putting in a claim...

Its easy enough to get into engineering mode with 888999 but that is not the code for system updates. Once we get that code, future system updates will be super easy to add.

You don't have to use the one that came with the unit  There is little use for it (unless you want to play videos) considering there are two other factory usb slots

the codes are probably contained in the firmware update files

unpack them and poke around

I finally got around to uploading the file they sent me to a blank usb and plugging it into the car. Nothing changed. Tried both the USB from the harness and the one at the bottom of the bezel.

It would have to be through the system update screen (which I believe no one yet has the code for) for an update to actually change anything

The word document they sent me tells you to insert the USB before start up and the system will run the file and update automatically.

I did... and I still don't have sound on the nav.

One thing I noticed is that if I have the nav on, when I get to a corner where I am turning, the "stereo system" only plays from the driver's side front speaker. ?!?!?!?!
it is almost like that is where the nav commands are supposed to be coming from.

To the guys that have a nav unit w/ no sound:

what are you planning to do ?
are you going to keep it ? or contact the seller to send the unit back ?

I wonder if Andrew has gotten further along w/ "breaking" the code.... :hitcomputer:
I installed my unit today and as some other members, my Navigation sound was not working. But it was cutting out the radio like it was trying to. So I put it on Video with no music, etc... turned up the Vol to max and I could faintly hear the Navigation commands. So it is there but the volume is not high enough. I set ALL the settings in the Nav area to max and in the Units main settings under Navigation I set that vol to max. Still is very very low with max vol. It's almost like the the vol of the navigation is set to low in the base programming.

Has any one been with out navigation sound and been able to fix it some how?

Also my unit has a software date of Nov

How about this: I know we have some folks working on solutions to the clocks, etc.

I'd be willing to kick in some cash (say $20 to start? More?) to serve as a bounty, and would suggest that maybe we all kick in a few bucks to a kitty. The first person who solves the issues and posts a fix gets the bounty.

Anybody else?

I was able to fix this by resetting the unit. - Press I then reset. If that doesn't work, remove your negative battery cable for a few minutes.

I was also able to get the unit to stop cutting out audio when pressing soft keys with navigation active by muting the "beep" in navigation sound settings.

Hope this helps.

ok did a little more messing with it. It's a Sync/Radio issue. I can get the navigation sound to work at the proper volume if I choose video as if I was to play a video from the USB (the Tomtop USB not the oem usb).
I played a MP4 movie and then went into the Navigation the sound works good. Try it with the radio playing or selecting Sync, the sound stops working. Go back into the Video option it some how resets and the sound works again.
My guess is there is an issue with the Navigation software trying to cutout any sound having to do with the OEM components (I.E. Sync, Radio, CD).

What do yo mean by "Press I then reset"???
Never mind I know what you mean...I did that many times with no luck and I even took off the battery cable for 20 min. No luck.

I will try that tomorrow to see if I can get sound from the nav.

So are you able to play the radio, cd or music from factory USB at all while the nav is on ?

Thanks for the info
