What sucks about our legal system and laws is that if I walked in your house and stole your 10R80 and $7k in cash, I'd be charged and convicted of multiple felonies.
But if I take your money (and transmission) on a business agreement to provide you with services and parts and then I just decide not to, the cops won't do a ****ing thing about it. It's a civil matter.
I ran into this issue with a TV order in Washington state. I'm no tough guy, but if he was 3 hours away from me, I'd be taking a drive to his shop and I'd get my trans back at a minimum and then we'd have a talk about my money for the turbo setup (face to face).
