Tires with boost

Alright guys, been through the search function and 10 pages of wheels and tires, still undecided and looking for opinions. Next month roush should have everything in, I’m doing their stage 2 blower with Ford performance billet opg and forged sprocket. Car is a base 2019 pp1 manual. I have but not yet installed steeda stop the hop starter kit, spherical lca bearings, diff bushings, and delrin vertical links.

Leaning towards apex ec7’s in 18 or 19 inch 10 front, 11 rear. Really like to run 335-345 rears but I can’t find any 11.5” wide rims I like. Wish the new as4 had better selection of sizes, I was thinking about doing a 295 as4 up front and running a 305-325 rear 555rii summer and blizzak or another as4 rear winter. What do you guys suggest for a supercharged car that sees sub freezing temps?

What do you guys suggest for a supercharged car that sees sub freezing temps?

Garage? Seriously, tough combination finding traction with SC and on Winter-All Weather tires. I don't even try, but rather leave car garaged Mid November through Mid March.

Not looking to do hpde events in January. I have an old pos f150 4x4 for when there’s a heavy snow but if it’s just simply cold, I’m taking the car.

Summer Tires - There is a substantial difference with traction at 60 Degrees-50 Degrees-40 degrees, etc. Tires become hard and like riding on bricks. Traction on dry-cold pavement goes down the tubes. Spin them on a dime. All weather tires work well-but you do give up same level of traction noted with good summer tire. Same as you can spin them on a dime. Ask me how I know.

If you’re boosted, what do you run and how well do they hook?


I have the Contact Extremes - Purely summer only. Not into Launching - got those days out of my system with an old Dodge Charger That said, no way will they hook and have to be careful from a rolling WOT throttle punch. At times had had some spin in 3rd gear. I have the P2 Upgrade -6speed and find the throttle linear and easy to control. Mostly enjoy driving and running twisty roads and there are a lot here in Eastern PA

What sizes would you guys suggest? Seams like it’s really hard to get close to the stock diameters. I’m thinking 295 up front and 325 rear.

Any thoughts on running the a/s up front year round? Only track the car sees is drag strip maybe 5 times a year.

I read somewhere but I can’t find it again, the 555rii can be ran down to 15 degrees, is that true?

I’m not finding the as3+ or as4 in anything between 285 and 325 for an 18 or 19” rim. Any suggestions?

Called tire rack this morning and they pretty much said everything for an 18 or 19” rim in a 295 or 305 is summer only. So should I step up to 325 squared or do I settle for a 285? Really not looking to put any camber in it, also don’t want the front and rear too far apart in width.

Michelin was less than helpful. I asked about future plans for sizing or if they would do a custom size and they responded with “please check your owners manual for fitment and for oversized tires, check with a shop that specializes in that”.
