Think I'm gonna go with a thinner sidewall. Currently on 315 35 20. Thinking about going with a 305 30 20. People tell me that the fat sidewall is slowing me down. Tire isnt spinning as fast as it would if the tire was thinner. Is that true. Thinking about.going with a G2 nitto

I don't think the 315's contribute to you being slower due to its sidewall size as much as the difference in weight between a 305/30 size versus a 315/35.

It changes your gearing. Larger means slightly less torque in any given gear (which is bad), but you shift slightly later (which is good). The engine still makes the same power. With the gearing change, sometime you'll be faster, sometimes slower, it depends.

That said, yeah, 305/30-20 is closer to the stock diameter.

A stickier tire will help. I recently put the G2s in 315 on my old 03 GT and I was still able spin them up pretty easily. I can't imagine them handling a coyote very well. Not that impressed with them.

You could go to a 305/30/20 I've done it before. However a stickier tire would help if you wanna go fast.
