Hey everyone,
I tried and searched for some info about it on the forum, but I couldnt find any answer to my question.
I had many quotes to get tint for my car (35% front windows, 20% for the back), and I now have to decide between these 2 :
- 145$ taxes in for Suntek film with a lifetime warranty.
- 198$ taxes in for Lumar or ASWF film, same warranty.

So, is there a "company" that's better than the other ? Is there any difference between these ?
Plain and simple, if it was for your car, which one would you go with ?

Thanks :hail:

Never had Lumar but I've had Suntek on my last two cars. Cant remember specific type on my '12 Mustang but this one has CXP; no complaints thus far.

I have lumar on my car, 20% all around and no complaints what so ever. Had the same guy with the same product do all of my past owned cars and always held up perfectly. And I got charged pretty much the same.

If the Suntek is at least the "carbon" series then its a good film, any suntek below that is basic metal dyed film with the potential to fade in color over time

EDIT: I guess with the lifetime, you can have it replaced if that happens.

I have used Llumar on most my cars, never had a problem whatsoever. Just had my Stang done in Llumar CTX last week

To those that have had their s550 tinted, did it take longer than normal because of the windows up/down after the doors are open/shut? Did they have to let it cure with the doors open?

thanks

That was a concern of mine, I spent an hour on the internet trying to find out if there is a way to disable that feature. Luckily, when mine was installed the windows up / down did not affect the tint and that was 15 min after it was put on

He said specifically do NOT roll down the windows for 3 days.

When they tint, there's a tool that goes into the door latch so the window returns to the "up" position. Doors are left open for a bit so tint can be applied and bond to window correctly.

Just had my car done with Llumar lifetime for $150.

Yea the guy shoved something in the side of my door in a square cutout where there was a latch. he tried to explain it to me real quick but I did not grasp what he was saying. Deff do not roll the windows down a for a few days, but the slight 1" drop and raise when the door opens and shuts should not affect it. I opened my door about 30x the day / night the tint was done and its perfect

So, I emailed back the guy from the Llumar/ASWF quote, cause the company seemed more professional than the one with the deal on the Suntek, and he's gonna do it for 150$ :)
Will let you know how it went, and post some pics up afterwards
