I’m getting ready to wake up my 2019 GT Convertible, she’s been sleeping since last October. I hate to start her up dry and would like to crank her over for a bit to pump some oil through the engine first. I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you depress the accelerator to the floor while cranking that it will not fire up. However, I want to be sure that is correct as I don’t want it to fire up WFO. That would me much worse. Or is there another way to disable the ignition system safely while cranking? Thanks in advance.

My 03 Lightning wouldn't fire up if I held the pedal to the floor. I haven't tried it on my 18 f150 or 19 mustang.

I do believe that's standard for all EFI cars and has been for years. I won't say it IS true, as I haven't tried it, but that has been the case for every other car I've seen for years.

In any event, you might want to think about doing the old "pull the plugs / squirt a little oil" routine if you're concerned about things being dry.

That is correct, I do it after oil changes.
