Would throttle bodies ever be worth it unless you're going with FI and pumping a lot more air? A lot of people say they love them and some vendors say they aren't worth it.

Not worth it on the coyote. Tune + cat deletes gives you the best bang for $$$/first mod wise.

Im sure later down the road when there are aftermarket manifolds and the limits are being pushed, it may be a viable option, but as it sits, there isnt much to gain from a bigger TB.

I know there were gains on the 2014 GT with a 90mm throttle body, but you're paying a lot for the small gains you get ($630).

It comes down to personal preference. I will more than likely end up getting a 90mm TB if I stay NA, in the past I felt a larger TB gave me a snappier throttle response.

Not sure what these look like on the inside, but sometimes the "larger" TBs just had better plate, shaft and wall design. If the intake mani opening is larger than our stock TBs that i imagine gains would be possible. The throttle response is dictated by the resistance of your entire intake. Its only as good as its smallest point.

Honestly i havent measuref any of the intake parts. Just in theory, more airspace between filter and TB(larger CAI tube) will feel snappier. If the engine is capable of pulling more air than the TB can provide then a larger one will show gains. If the engine is getting everything it wants, the only gains you will see from a TB will be in increasing the effiency of airflow and air stream quality (low turb).

I think Im rambling now. I really shouldnt browse the forums on my long drive home.

Spend the money elsewhere at first as this is likely your very last mod. You might get 5-10 HP on a fully modded car. If you want a nice looking polished one that says Accufab or Ford Racing on it just for looks you'd have to remove the engine cover to see it.

I've read several times over the last 4 years they can help with smoothing out the idle for tricky turbo and N/A race tuning but who could confirm that? not me.
