This thing is staying too clean

Bought this 2020 with 3k on the clock.
Shipped it down to Texas from Detroit and it went through a winter snow storm on the truck. Got here covered in road salt.
I took it to the high pressure car wash just to knock that all off.
Next day it looked like I'd waxed it?
Then yesterday I took it through another touchless pressure wash place and drove it home through a sleet/rain storm. Yeah, Texas weather.
Today it still looks clean.
WTF?
How do you tell if a car has been ceramic coated?

I haven't noticed it just sheeting off.
But my last Mustang would sit under the carport and be covered with dust in 2 days. Tons of new houses going in all around me
This one, even the black roof is dust free since Saturdays rain storm wash job.
It's like the dust isn't sticking?

Very nice! I bought my 2020 gt new in March of 2021 & washed clayed & put meguiars ceramic hybrid wax. I now have 4k miles on it & every time I fill up my station has a touch less wash I run it through. I keep it inside & never drive in rain but it will have a little dust from setting but it comes off in the car wash. Thinking about repeating this every March. Once a year isn't too much to ask of such a good looking car!

Kyle: First off, in my limited experience with ceramic, dust doesn't care. :-) I'm down in Corpus and it's pretty windy most of the time. I try to keep the garage doors closed but you know how that is. Anyway, mine gets dusty in one day.

As to whether you're dealing with a coated vehicle or not, the previous posters are on the right track with beading and sheeting water. But, I'm guessing that the seller told the store it was coated and that would be a selling point. Consequently, I would have thought that they'd brag about that during the negotiations.

Bottom line, if you can't get water to lie flat with a hose, it either has a ton of wax or, it was coated. You could probably take it to a PPF shop and ask them to check for ceramic. (Film won't stick well to it and they know that you have to polish the coating off before applying film.) So, they may be able to tell you.

Bottom line. If it is coated, it will last much longer than a wax job so just keep an eye on things when rinsing.

In any case, enjoy it until it wears off.

As an example of ceramic beading, here's my roof after a rinse. With a coating, it is impossible to get water to lie flat.

Wow. To each his own but I would never run a car I wanted to keep in good shape through one of those. Grit and even small rocks have gotten into the rotating pads and done some bad scratches to some people's cars. My wife got a few once and also had a piece of trim pulled off the window on her previous SUV. She hand washes now.

It's touchless just uses soap & pressure wash off. There's no way I'd use one with the spinning brushes that touch the car.
