The way you guys have handled the whole Mustang preorder thing is an absolute joke, promises of the car before Christmas and now people who preorded long before the March cutoff are being told not expect it before June. I thought you guys wanted to sell cars not annoy more people, XR delays, Mondeo delays and looks like the Everest delayed as well, so much for Ford biggest year.

I expect the response to this to be due to global demand blah blah screw Australia as usual.

Ford Australia
Hi David. The Mustang is a very popular new car model in the Ford Australia line up, and we are working hard to meet our customers' orders. Mustang has received an overwhelming response from potential customers in every market that it's going to be sold in. Demand is high not only in Australia but the other right-hand drive markets the car is being sold into. Your dealer can give you the best advice on when one can be received from our US factory. Whats the point in replying if its with nothing helpful, of course i spoke to the dealer about delivery times, its not like i chose a random month, unlike you guys who promised one thing to get the order but are now delaying up to 6 months, maybe i shouldnt have orded through a small town dealership because we all know how many Fs you give about people outside the city.

Pretty much. The fact that they already have a precanned response does not bode well at all... My concern is now that I am over the rage of May delivery to a degree what is going to happen when they announce another delay (which is almost guaranteed to happen)

Sounds like what i said about final specs, let it out slowly so we get over one thing at a time. The problem is they have us over a barrell, a guy at work said just cancel F'em, yeah and get what lol there is nothing else here with the same style, a large 2 door aggressive looking pony car,

Exactly true. At the price point it wins hands down.. I am sure that Gm confirming no rhd camaro added to the acceptance of delay by ford au from ford America.... There is no competitor so who cares is probably the conversation that happened in the boardroom .

At this stage I haven't heard from my dealer.

I'm not going to call either as I prefer to let the dealer make all the running.

My circumstances are different; at the moment I don't really need a new car and I'm happy to wait until June if needs be as I'm hoping QC on things like panel fit will have improved.

One thing my dealer did tell me about a month ago was that when the Ford rep went around the dealerships to verify the orders he did not spend much time at Sinclair Ford and complimented the dealer on the records he presented, unlike other dealerships where the paperwork was shoddy. Don't know if that might affect the timing of allocations.

Can't say I blame him!

All of us here really want this car and are prepared to wait and sit it out, but I do think in this day and age the gap between when the car went on sale in the US to when its going to be available in all other markets is pretty unacceptable.

This version was always planned to be a global car and was even launched with a 'global' event back in Dec 2013. To take 2 + years from launching the car to making it available to sale is a joke. Ford sales in Aus continue to be poor and yet there are a stack of popular models that either aren't on sale or feature huge waiting lists with Ford Aus blaming supply constraints.

They are killing themselves. No other manufacturer seems to have this issue. Do they have any clue about the markets they are trying to sell too?

They aren't very helpful, it makes no sense how people are being told completely different information. If my delivery were to blow out to a June/July delivery I would seriously consider buying a 2009/2010 GT-R instead, which was my other option before the Mustang was announced.

With still no details on the RHD car for the UK and Aus markets, only a summer (here) away from the first to start rolling off the production line in the US, I am starting to get concerned about whether we will be the guinea pigs for Ford US' 1st RHD car.

I thought that modern cars went through millions of miles of testing before being let loose on the public and sure, the US LHD Mustang has been around for a year or so but I'd imagine that there will be a few engineering changes to account for the change to RHD.

Hi Guys,

Good news, Due to improvements in productivity at the plant at Flatrock there will be a revised ETA on all priority orders some time this week. Fingers crossed all orders improve greatly.
I hope you are not trolling me.....
