Anyone have or suggest a good thin wall or coated impact lug nut socket? Lug holes on the 6GR are very tight. Only ones on Amazon I found get varied reviews so would like to see what you all have used with good success.

I have a new set of 6GR Ten going on the car this week. I browsed around a bit and figured I’d try the Harbor Freight socket they have w the protective sleeve. I have the black lugs 6GR offers. The socket BARELY fit into the lug holes. Haven’t mounted the wheels yet as they’re currently being ceramic coated.

I’ve seen some guys using a thin walled socket and just wrapping the outside of the socket in some electrical tape for protection.

I havent had any luck with platic sleeved sockets in the 17mm size we need for the smaller tuner lugs.

Its easier to find unsleced thin walled sockets that fit with enough clearance. Just take your time.

If you’re concerned you can just wrap the socket in a layer of masking tape. Just replace the tape when it gets torn or dirty.

I use the socket that came with my Gorilla lugs and wrapped it in Duct tape
