Nice one, cant wait to see it. Especially Orange Fury.
I am gonna say you wont see it until late summer though. Hope its earlier.

I agree with you on looks. For some reason it looked awful in those early leaked pics but since then I have grown to like it and if I was to order now, I would go for MY18 as I think the pro's out way the cons.

Will be interesting to see what it costs.

I shall probably be stripping more parts over coming weeks/months which are not necessary for its day to day running, like Power Pack 3 and other bits, as long as the looks/sound remain the same the rest will come off.

Gibbo205. If you decide to sell any of the parts (especially) the power pack 3 bits please get in touch. Will pay a fair price, collect, and even help you remove it if you need a second pair of hands!

To be honest in Ford's press shots even the colour looked awful, was a mustard colour.

I am hoping Ford will bring over an Orange Fury before I have to give final commitment just to make sure its not mustard, but from seeing pictures from owners it actually looks a really nice colour that is either orange or you've being tango'd. :D

Looks wise, MY15 front-end looks nicer, but the MY18 front-end looks more polished if that makes sense, I think its the headlights, the MY15 units are kind of cheapish looking, whereas the MY18 headlights look much more polished/glossy, very hard to explain. Even from some angles the MY18 looks nicer at the front like you say it grows on you but at same time from other angles it looks like it had a stroke or case of down syndrome, really kind of odd from the front, am sure in person it will look very aggressive and fine, maybe it just needs the huge front grill changing from gloss to matt. Every other angle I prefer the looks, even the big stupid rear wing which export market almost certainly won't get anyway, so not something to worry about. I shall keep it simple and fit another GT 350 track pack spoiler, think its easily the best wing on these cars as it flows so well and ducktail spoilers work so well on Mustangs.

But yes technology wise, the MY18 is a home run, to me a facelift generally does not get so much new technology its almost as if Ford really made a lot of errors on the S550.1 and as such the S550.2 got a lot of updates.

Also I think Ford are changing their gameplan. Mustangs out the box from Ford have always being totally shit cars, sorry to the S197 owners amongst us but they are crap, I owned one I know, but yes you can make them fantastic, but this is my point, Mustangs are generally poop out the box unless its a Shelby or a BOSS.

Whereas S550.1 with PP was actually not such a bad car, I suspect no doubt because of the decision to go global and even though Ford did a great job and it was incredible value for money it still had a lot of short comings. Driveline clunks, lazy un-responsive engine, EB's self destructing, floaty handling, poor plastics, in short even though the base car has come along a good way we still all found ourselves wanting to upgrade it particular in handling and power/response area. Plus Ford's enemy is weight, something they still have not learned how to sort out, they should look at Jaguar, GM as they are making bigger cars, with more toys that weigh less.

I think this is why S550.2 is bringing so many updates, though Mustang globally has being an incredible success, the car has had issues and criticism and as such S550.2 does seem to be addressing a lot of said issues. So its my guess that is why S550.2 is bringing so much more to the table.

S650 I feel will be superb, I imagine Ford's biggest advances on the S650 will be their water injection techology for additional power, hopefully a new chassis that weighs far less and the rest will be new look and further tweaking. Lets face it if S650 can bring us 100lbs saving, water injection can get the Coyote V8 to beyond 500HP for S650 along with weight savings, 10-speed would make it rapid, just hope it looks as good or better as S550. :)

OK buddy, you've got first dibs on the KW and PP3, if you were to take both of my hands when time comes (might be a while) I'd let you have them for ÂŁ2500, KW's, PP3 (less SCT X4). Which is a bargain because the KW's are ÂŁ2500 and the rest alone!

Cheers, but so you know, it is not 110% on KW until I get 100% confirmation I can specify magneride on MY18, otherwise I am afraid they come with me.

But I do believe export cars will get magneride so all should be well. :)

missus showed me a facebook post from someone on one of the groups she's on from a ford dealership who have apparently been told from ford uk that they're stopping the uk mustangs and the next gen won't be coming to the uk.

pretty sure the guy from the dealership didn't understand that they were stopping current gen in favour of the new gen but he claimed he'd been told by dealer principal that they weren't to take any more mustang orders.

Good work Gibbo, excited for ya...brave move changing from subtle magnetic to loud and shouty OF. That being said, my default shouty colour would be race red but somehow I don't think I could resist OMM on the '18

Really great to see that we are getting all the bells and whistles as standard here. Really hope that means the price point stays reasonable to keep in line with the great value aspect :ford:

An this justifies my post, above, about dealers not having a clue :(

I suspect, yes, they won't take official orders taken at the moment. There won't be any more '17 RHD cars built now, and I'm guessing there's no fixed date for '18 RHD production to start.

I'll give Ford some slack.....this (not taking new orders) may be to help manage customer expectations until they have more information. However, spreading DISinformation is just as bad

This is true, the ordering system (VISTA) is now closed on Mustang. Ford have stockpiles in the UK of new Mustangs to sell, so in short if you order a new MY17 today you will have it in 3-4 weeks as there is stock plentiful throughout the UK and other RHD export markets, it just may not be exactly spec wise as you wanted.

VISTA will in theory re-open late September when MY18 orders can be put through.

If Ford UK made the decision to not take new orders for the MY18 I would email every Ford US person I could find a contact for showing my disgrace at how poorly the UK operation is ran for clearly overstocking on an old model and not wanting to take fresh orders, why should the consumer be punished because those who run Ford UK could not organise a piss up even in a pub. Then I'd probably just go and buy something else or import one from a close RHD market and give Ford UK a big middle finger. :D

Of course incredibly slim chance of that happening as I am sure all will go well and its just miss-communication from some dealerships.

I had an invite to go Crew Hall today to test drive the new LC 500, I have not gone just in case I liked it too much:

https://www.lexus.co.uk/lc?utm_sour...=ds&dclid=CLfFpuO3zNUCFeOHUQodyf8HAw#TheRange

However, the car I spec'd was ÂŁ88,000, for essentially a car slower than an MY18 Mustang yet it cost double.

Apart from a slightly nicer interior, its engine produces more or less same power, it also has a 10-speed and though it looks unique I just do not want it.

When you see a car like this, the Mustang for its faults really proves what incredible value it truly is because lets face it an MY18 with the toys to equal this car will still cost half the money, but its not half the car, not even close.

I'm amazed how similar the spec of the LC500 is to the Mustang.......at least in terms of n/a V8 power and a 10-speed auto.

It's a striking car.....but not one I lust after......had a good look over it at Goodwood. The interior is pretty stunning though......but then it should be for the price :)

yeah i'm pretty sure the guy just hasn't understood the whole generation change over (though they should be familiar with it from other cars)

The LC 500 is a bit odd, it will be slightly slower than the RCF and although its meant to compete with the BMW 6 its not in the same league as the M6.... Having said that my mate has the RCF and its great, build quality great, gearbox (8 speed) is truly fantastic, (especially if breaking hard it does wonderful downshifts), looks.... not so sure.... just no soul......
M6, well I wont go there, supper quick and a really great car, but oh so expensive, in 'M' mode it really moves and as a four seater it really destroys some serious cars (with comp pack - 600bhp :headbang:) nearly caught me ought when I booted it for the first time in M mode coming out of a corner :eyebulge:. But as ever, smiles per pound... Mustang every day.:ford:

I see the my18 gt350 production run has some big gaps this year. What's going to be made on that line during the breaks? Is it too optimistic to hope it might be a watered down export spec gt350?
