How did your chip repair turn out [MENTION=26917]sheps5.0[/MENTION]? Was it on the front panel or bonnet/wings? My car just got showered with glass from a sunroof in the car in front exploding. Going to need some TLC @ DMC. :(

Shit! Talk about wrong place , wrong time. As I've only just forked out a fortune on paint correction I didn't really want to again already. So got him to fill it with touch up paint and a spot of lacquer on it. If you get right up close you can see where it was but it'll do for now. It was on the bottom of the passenger door in the middle. I'm guessing though that you've got multiple chips on the front end and bonnet and a lot more noticeable so this may not be suitable to hide it enough. I'm pretty sure they can fix it but could be more expensive than I paid.

Should have also put that it feels like you've been kicked in the guts when it happens doesn't it? It's one of those things that you hope never happens but you know is going to happen eventually and totally makes you feel like shit. You keep telling yourself it can be fixed but it doesn't help though.

It does, although there are a lot less than I expected when it happened. It sounded awful, and I was glad I had the roof up. Some the chips feel a bit sharp like it's gone straight through to the aluminium. Quite glad I haven't had any correction done or coatings. Think I'll get some touch up into them and deal with it all at once later. Like you say, it happens eventually.

Sounds like that could be expensive to completely remove if it's gone into the metal that much. Me personally I think I'd have to get it professionally fixed if it was all on my hood. I'd just be looking at it every time I went to the car. :(

Yes. £500 for a hood respray on an S197. The early ones had ally rot problems. God's way of telling me to get a scoop hood .
