It's not his car collection that makes him a d!ck its how he wants everyone to know what he has !!!! Have you read any of his articles such as in the Top Gear mag? Listened to Radio2 ? heh

The three stooges from the 'Old' last of the summer 'Top Gear' wine had nice car collections but don't continuously brag about it to the lower achievers..:) ...and weren't always name dropping were they ?!? No

Was Evans ostracised as a child ?!?
As I said, whatever you think of him his car collection beats mine hands down. Bar Top Gear I've never watched any of his programmes or read any of his articles and I don't listen to Radio 2 - but I am aware of his media work. Like Simon Cowell, his 'TV persona' is not really my cup of tea, but judging by the amount of money they've both made they're clearly popular with quite a lot of people and reasonable business men to boot.

Can't say I've ever met him, maybe in real life he is just like his on TV ..... or maybe not. Just sayin' .....

Sure he's clever and manipulative and abusive to his co-workers to whom he allegedly exposes himself if you believe the Daily Mail and the subsequent police enquiry. And from that position of power he's cleverly amassed a lot of money for sure...

Doing charity events such as Children In Need certainly does wonders for your CV...clever guy

And with the money he has, I agree with you totally, amassed a wonderful collection of cars...but so would I if I was a clever enough 'businessman' to be in his position. It's not the cars that make the man !!

With regard to the Mustang in one of his earlier articles he refers to the S550 GT as 'Utterly Pointless!!'. When he knew he would be presenting a TV show that would be shown globally he suddenly changed his mind...how strange or clever is that?

I'm proudly Northern, straight forward, and I'm sorry I'm not a supporter..

Sabine, no, Chris Harris, Yes.

Sabines too hard to understand, i'm sorry, it's just the german accent, nothing to do with her, you don't want viewers to be strained listening to something. She's fine for segments. Not for the entire presentation of the show.
I used to have a German gf, brings back good memories :headbang:

If the Mustang review was good on Sunday, I'd have been more forgiving with the new format. There are too many presenters - not enough chemistry between them. It's as if the BBC have been applying a scientific formulae to making the programme. Like 1970's BL - a horse designed by committee is a camel. Entertainment is an art form, not a science. Individually they are all OK, but collectively they don't work together. If it were me (and thankfully it's not)I'd keep Chris Harris (obviously), Rory (even though his Mum would probably hate the tame Mustang) Sabine and Matt. Ditch the others including the Stig. And spend much less time doing the chat show thing....and more reviews of under ÂŁ80K fast cars............

Yeah I agree. I always fast forward the chat show part but I suppose they need to keep it in to attract a wider audience. Why didn't they send the Mustang around the Top Gear track?!

For what its worth I saw the review Monday night. I think we can skip over Rory and his mother and worry about who I really believe. That would be two people
Chris Harris who I think is magnificent in his knowledge and reviews. He gets it and is not afraid to say good v bad but he backs it up with knowledge of his own.
Second is my soon to be 10 yr old son. After he saw the yellow V8 reviews and it doing its thing (line lock was greeted with pure awe) I told him we had ordered one 3 months ago and it should be here for Xmas. Until that point, he had no idea I really wanted to wait for the right time.
If you were within 75 miles of Towcester you would have heard the reaction and thanks to the rescue services who managed to dig him out the ceiling ! THAT is the review I will remember. Mustangs make big and small boys somewhat irrational with excitement
@Flat rock - hurry up I am already tired of hearing "is it here yet"

Excellent work...now you have to put up with the daily "is it here yet?"

Hope you get it sooner rather than later...

It's true though, kids do love it. I parked up at the gym last night and happened to look out the window to see a young lad, probably around 10, posing next to my car whilst his mum took photos. Not going to like, I loved that!

It went down well, very well - slight disappointment that i suggested line lock would only happen when the tyres were due a change. But seeing what Ford provide I imagine that wont be too long

Slightly off thread but at the other end of the scale my 93 year old father asked why I wasn't getting something smaller and more economical... But then again this is a man who thinks Top Gear should only show family cars because people can relate to them... and all you need from a car is 'an adjustable seat and dials you can see'. (NB That Harry Enfield character 'You don't want to do that' was based on my dad)

I think you should at least do it once when dropping him off for school, it only seems fair

Equally my 70 year old granddad told me I should have got a faster car ! Different strokes ahy!
My other granddad, little older, told me to be careful and drive safe.

Both loved the car, but both are from car factories, First worked on MG's race cars, the other on Jags, so car people at least ;).

Waaaayyy off topic now....
