Chris Harris on Extra Gear was obviously annoyed at Rory Reid for his Mustang review.

13 mpg was a massive misrepresentation as I have never had below 21 mpg and often get over 25 mpg and many have done even better.

Saving grace was the mention of a V8 5.0 412 HP for under £35K which will have been heard by many.

Anyway, when I said Top Gear Effect I really meant that lot on Amazon :)
13 mpg was just plain dishonesty when they juxtaposed it against the EB. The EB would not get 30 mpg if you drove it the same way.

Just my thoughts. You expect better from the BBC.....second thoughts, maybe not. I just long for the day when you get facts and not variations of the thuth to suit the story.

I could easily drive and Ecoboost and get around 20mpg out of it and then drive the same journey in the V8 and get 30 mpg by driving different and then I could tell everyone that the Ecoboost does 20mpg and the V8 30mpg

I actually dont get as hung up on reviews as others do. I really dont give a flying shite what they think.

Half the reasons he had to complain about it are just the reasons to own one!

I just loved seeing the car on the NC500. My son, could not believe "they are the actual roads we are gonna drive on, are you serious!"

Personally I am very happy that he slagged the GT off and criticised the 13 mpg he got out of it,how he managed such low figures without crashing it when he appears to have no driving skills is beyond me.
Hopefully it will put people off buying it so I can carry on driving around a fantastic fun ,comfortable, very quick when using revs correctly, actually reasonably fuel efficient for a big V8,very very admired car (and I have had a few admired cars, but this is in a different league!).
The fewer people that buy it means I have an exclusive car which I personally very much like the idea of.They can cease production tomorrow if they want to,only after they have delivered all your orders of course.

I knew before I switched it on that I'd regret watching it, and I wasn't wrong..

Most interesting part of the whole feature, was the scenery... Plus I learned to trust my instincts and not watch that shite show again:paddle:

Another thing into the mix - Chris Evans did a rave review of the v8 in a newspaper recently (can't recall which one!), so it seems Rory is on his own...

I just loved seeing the car on the NC500. My son, could not believe "they are the actual roads we are gonna drive on, are you serious!"
My girlfriends response when I told her 'That's the roads im missing out on for the interns' was 'Youre a fking idiot'.

Needless to say, she forgot she was in Italy that week as well anyway .

I just sat 'fact-bashing' half the crud they chatted about the cars, 13mpg in the GT v 30mpg in the ecoboost is a bit... Loud to say the least, yes the eco will easily do over 30. But put both the V8 and the Eco side by side on 20miles of road doing 70 constantly, they'll both average in the 30s. Eco definitely, V8 probably.

If you want t laugh, read Big_G 's twitter, Rory responded to him and they were exchanging tweets. Personally don't get any Eco-bashing, until you live with it, you're somewhat unaware of just what it can do.

Granted, are we really going to take Rory's comments over anything - He said he'd rather an old school mustang because 'Part of the fun in driving one was almost dying'... :headbonk:. No no, I think i'll stick to my nice comfortable driving 'Boring' ecoboost. and not have to deal with a happy back end :frusty:

can't fathom why they chose to go with Rorys segment when they could've gone with Harris' video (from the web page)... or why they didn't get it around the track. (I think they should have both the GT and the EB around the track though :D)

I'd personally like to see that... Think it might be a bit eye opening for the GT owners who slate the ecoboost... or embaressing for ecoboost owners, who knows ;).

We'll have to hand two stock cars over to our tame racing driver...

Some say, he only goes sideways around roundabouts
Others say he had the best car around the Silverstone international track day.
All we know is... He's called Gibbo205 !!!!

The video on their page is from Chris's YouTube channel before top gear. So doubt he would have given them permission to use it. Plus it's probably getting a lot of views over the next few days which would line Chris's pockets not the BBC

The review was too short, not factual and pretty crap. Hopefully no one orders now and it becomes more exclusive. I have had so many comments/looks in the 12 odd days of ownership that I don't really care to be honest!

Phenomenally bad - impressionistic and amateurish. That's me done with TG, unless they purge RR and the rest and stick with Matt, Chris H, and perhaps Sabine - so long as they give her real stuff to do
