Welp, decided to snag myself one of these Steeda clutch springs. I'm no mechanical expert, but all this talk about potential slave cylinder leakage sounds no bueno, so I might as well pop this spring in and see how I like it. I've had the factory assist spring out since day one, so I'm really hoping the clutch doesn't feel too numb, but 185lbs from the factory vs 35lbs from Steeda doesn't seem like it would be too noticeable a difference from what I have no with no spring, so I'm looking forward to giving it a go.

Finally got my Diode Dynamics engine bay lighting installed! My first set had defective LED strips, but DD was awesome in getting me a replacement set. No questions asked; and before you knew it, I had two more strips on the way. The replacement set was much better as it actually worked.

Because of the lack of places to mount the strips and the space taken up by the strut bar and engine cover, I decided to mount one strip on the underside of the strut bar, and the other on the underside of the radiator cover so it illuminates the grille. Because I only have one strip in the engine bay, it doesn't really illuminate anything too much, but it looks cool, and now my grille glows blue as well. All in all, I'm pretty pleased!

I ended up using the toggle switch instead of the hood open/close activator, and simply drilled a hole in the battery cover and mounted the toggle in there. Diode Dynamics

Just installed Steeda's 35lb clutch assist spring. Since I already had the spring out, popping the new one in took less than a minute; in fact, if you know how the assembly is supposed to sit; you don't even need to see it. I simply felt my way around and once everything clicked into place, took my phone light to double check and was good to go.

My first impressions? It feels nearly the exact same as not having the spring at all. If there is a difference, it's not something that's readily noticeable unless I am 100% concentrating on it. It SEEMS a little more "springy" than before, but honestly I think it's just my imagination. Basically, the difference, if there's any at all, is minimal.

Since I loved the feeling with no spring, I guess this is a good thing, right?

Awesome build.

How did you put the "Mustang" front emblem back?
Thanks! Since it's a custom emblem, it has 4 threaded studs in the back. I basically held it on with 3m tape and used some speed nuts on the backside, held in with 4-40 nuts. That thing will never come off, lol

great job putting it back. hope i can do the same, lol.
Honestly, I'm 100% certain it'll stay on with just 3m tape. Should be pretty easy to do

That's great to hear. I'm adding this to my ever growing list of Steeda parts.

Since the day I got my car (last June), I've been displeased with the stock shifter. It wasn't horrible by any means, but it could stand a bit more firming up. Since that day, I've been fiddling with different parts and shifter accessories trying to get the best feel. Nothing really hit that sweet spot, and top of everything, I ended up breaking one of the studs that holds the rear shifter bracket in place.

Some people were curious why I didn't buy the Steeda tri-ax shifter, since it's clear I love Steeda products (the giant STEEDA banner on my windshield should have given that away). Believe me, I have heard only good things about the Steeda shifter, and if my chassis stud wasn't broken off, I'm pretty certain I would have gone with the Steeda. Everyone seems to be happy with theirs, and I expect nothing less from the good folks at Steeda.

As it stands, however, I had to use a fully trans-mounted shifter. Basically it was between Barton and MGW, and since MGW does away with the stock linkage, the decision was really a no-brainer. I bought my MGW a month ago and this morning I took it to East Bay Muscle Cars for installation (after all the grief I went through messing around with the shifter, I was done with doing this on my own. I wanted a professional installation).

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this race spec? It's brilliant; everything is buttery smooth. The shifts click into place, and I experienced no lockouts in high RPMs (though to be fair, it rarely happened to begin with). Everything feels tight, and the clanging sound I had from the stock linkage is completely gone. My entire shifter assembly is now rock solid, and it feels like a video game shifter.

Regarding the off-center shift arm (.200" for god's sake); if I'm staring at it from the backseat or looking at a picture of it from head-on, yes, I can see it. It does not bother me one bit. From the driver's seat, I can't tell at all. I had no issues determining which gear I was in. The only time I could tell was head-on in neutral. It's rarely ever sitting in neutral to begin with, so no biggie. It seems silly to make George eat the cost of swapping out the upper shifter over .200" that does not in any way affect performance, and honestly, that's WAY more work than I'm willing to go through for .200 inches.

My next step is buying the OEM adapter so I can pop my Lathewerks stainless steel knob back on. I'm using that knob until the day I die, lol.

tl;dr = I'm happy with it!

UPDATE: Turns out if I flip the jam nut around and thread it on upside down, it accommodates the Lathwerks knob with the recess just fine, though it now sits super low. It should do for now, but I can definitely see the OEM adapter allowing it to sit at more of a stock-ish height.

Snagged myself one of these MMD roof spoilers. Never really considered one before, but I think it looks cool, so I got one. Should be installed sometime this weekend; install thread coming as well, though it doesn't look too involved. Thanks AMAlexLazarus for the suggestion!

Aaaaaaaand I ended up getting a set of these as well, lol. Gonna be a busy week!

"But, but.....they're stick on and not functional!"

I don't give a flying fart; I wanted side scoops since day one and I love the way they look. Reminds me of the style that SN95s had, and that's the body style I fell in love with.

All I can say is be patient installing them.

My claim to fame here is installing a set of these on my beloved project coyote (If you look close you'll actually see me in the video)

If installed Correctly you can pull these so hard the car will shake.

I fell in love with the SN95's too and still have a massive spot for our Grabber Blue 98.

Let me see if I can get some video of my handywork here for everyone.
