I did try an sell my GT and the offers were simply a joke for what I got in the car. Witch I brought up about dumping thousands of $ into a GT ( talk about depression)v/s paying an ADM on a car that might actually hold value in a previous post.
I've been thinking about this fact too. Since GTs are everywhere, the amount of cash I sink into the car now will never be returned to me down the road when I go to sell it. It's all about enjoying it here and now. That's why I'm questioning if I should just call it quits and be happy with everything I've modded to this point. Then, focus 100% of my effort on setting cash aside for a GT350. For the price of a Whipple, wheels and tires, I've got my down payment right there.

Long story short my son received a very nice athletic scholarship, so I'm keeping my GT along with the Shelby. Sometimes kids are great,,,,lol
Congrats! You are one of the lucky few who will get to have a daily driver that's almost nearly as nice as his weekend sports car. :D

I will tell you Hurricane, if you supercharge, that's just the start of cash you'll lay out. You will or could dump hundreds if not thousands of dollars in suspension to try and get any sort of traction!!

That's very true and a great point! I'd need all kinds of parts to handle that power. New clutch, drive shaft, half-shafts, coil-overs, larger/stickier tires, etc. Blargh! :headbonk:

Paying a little ADM doesn't sound so bad now.

I've made many calls and I'm putting my GT350 plans on hold for about 6 months. Maybe, the 2016s with ADMs will stack up and dealers will accept MSRP offers on 2017 models but at this point, I've been unable to find such a dealer.

I'll have to stay off Youtube. The FPC sound haunts me...

Funny, my wife prodded me to buy my 350 despite the ADM. She knew I would regret it if I passed. Our local dealer only got 2 and I didn't really want to buy a car out of the area.
ADM or not my wife just doesn't get it. She tells me I should spend a little more money and get a slightly used 911.

Cause she is a brand whore and doesn't know WTF a FPC is or why this is more than just a Mustang. She just doesn't get me like you guys do.

I lucked out, the wife knew there was no changing my mind so supported it fully. Turns out she loves the GT350 and the glorious sound it makes. She was sad we didnt take it out this weekend

This might help: Tell her even Ferrari failed to make a FPC V8 this big.

I had to make the argument for making a deposit on an R to my girlfriend

It will only go up in value in 10 years!

My 2016 in coming in next week and I was talking to my salesman about 2017 pricing.

He said they sold their 17R for 15k over and want 10K for non-R. Basically they are starting at $5k higher than last year. I know this doesn't mean they will get 10K over for a non-R, but they are starting higher than the '16s.
That sounds exactly the same as the dealer I ordered my 2017 order from.

As for people saying the adm prices will go down, I think it's possible, but I also think most of the R allocations will be gone by then. I think if you want one, you are going to have to either pay adm, get really lucky, or wait and get a used one in a few years. Maybe I am wrong, but no one knows for sure right now. Hindsight is always 20/20, however...

No offence ..but if I had to have an argument over putting a deposit down on an R with MY money..it would be the last argument we would ever have. I would only hope the door slammed her in the butt on the way out the door. :eyebulge: NEXT please...:headbang:.

You guys are so much more considerate of your significant others opinion than I am. I worked out the deal on my GT350 on Friday. Left the house on Saturday, came home 3 hours later with the GT350. Wife simply asked if I liked it.
