Yesterday I spent the day at an SCCA autocross event at Route 66 Raceway, we had about 180 cars. My car was the only GT350 and there were about 6-7 S550's. This is a group of people that really appreciates a car with great brakes, suspension and an engine that sounds amazing. Tons of fun and plenty to talk about, I had about 100 people come up to me during the day to discuss the car.

Again I know they all went to them and with the Technology advancement they are probably far superior, but for a weekend warrior like my self the manual just makes me feel more engaged with driving. It adds to the fun of just everyday fun spirited driving. Again just my opinion, that's all
Let me take a step back, I certainly don't disagree. I love manuals. But exotics will always be the at the front of automotive technology too. That's just how society is working right now. Personally, I believe an exotic should be about the emotional character of the drive, excitement, sound, and technology in a finely balanced blend. DBS for instance used to have a manual. V12 engine, screaming exhaust, carbon everywhere, soulful drive, drop dead gorgeous...sounds like an exotic to me. But the TheFerrari is by no means any less exotic either. Blipping a well tuned DCT has a certain level of satisfaction behind it.

Do you know a guy named Greg Fox? Has a darker red S197 with a black front bra.

And are you doing the TriPod Challenge in Milwaukee over the 4th weekend?

I think we drove the last 10 miles together on the way to the track in the morning. I did see his last 3 runs, I was working the corners during that session.
Not sure I can get to Milwaukee with my weekend schedule, but I will try.

Cool man. Definitely give it a shot if you can for even one of the events. I'll be there for both and scrubbing in some Hankook RS3's.

Went to a small weekly car show in Canton to get 10 percent off coupons for dinner and a couple beers. There were a lot of older cars and some super nice guys that put a ton of love into their rides. I didn't stay by my car, I just opened the windows and hood and found the beer garden. The guy next to me watched everything for me. To my surprise there was a small crowd waiting by my car when we left, they all wanted to hear it before they went home. The road curved around and I was asked twice more before I could even get off the property to rev it out.

Similar experience in Easton, drinking a bit at coopers hawk we noticed a lot of attention for a sweet Mclaren. Didn't think too much of it but when we walked to the poor person garage and got to my car their was a group of people looking at it. They couldn't believe I parked it and didn't valet. Wife thought it was funny to see a bigger crowd looking at my car. She was surprised the Mclaren cost as much as a nice house here.
