This looks like a part number and not certain if it links the block to the actual vehicle. It's hidden after the oil pan is installed.

I’m going to say that the SC’er was ordered just in case or ordered separately just because not knowing what would come in engine crate. I’m sure your car is as good as new, same as mine will be, hopefully on Monday! Thanks to Corwin !
Just FYI here’s what comes in the engine crate lol

I wonder if the supplier of sodium filled exhaust valves for the GT350 and GT500 X-Ray the valves to ensure one side of the valve stem is not too thin . Sodium filled valves are good for getting rid of heat in the valve , but the possibility of a too thin valve stem wall can lead to a broken valve.

I’m not sure about other engines, but mine was an intake valve. Heat shouldn’t have been an issue. I guess a thin weak wall still could be though. Just knowing how I drove the car, I’m thinking it just lost a retainer clip,

Let me see if I can find a photo of the VIN location on the block. Its on the bottom side somewhere. Hold on....

Edited to add: I cant find the photo I took, but I believe it is on the left side of the block, lower portion. Most likely your replacement engine's stamp plate is blank.

It’s on the lower, rear, left side of the block. Just above the oil pan:

Haven’t looked for a VIN on the transmission or diff. I’ll take a look.
