Test drives

Why haven't we heard of anyone in here talking about their test drives? I was hoping to read about some..thought a bunch were scheduled over the weekend.

Because there are no cars ready to test drive yet...few more weeks and we "should" start hearing about some.

A "few more weeks" here
and a "few more weeks" there
blah blah blah - same old same old that we have been hearing since august.

"A few more weeks" sounds better than "Somewhere next year" though

I'm scheduled to test drive in the 27th at 2 pm. This was set up by ford marketing 2 weeks ago. When he asked if I wanted to u said sure but I doubt it will happen sense no cars have shipped. His response was I show cars in transit. I said are you sure about that sense
Nothing shows that to be the case. He assured me in his system that they were in transit. So we shall see what happens sat. And like another poster said they should be following up not is the customer. You made the appointment and swore it would happen. If it won't you should call to re schedual.

I too am scheduled for a test drive Saturday at 2. Haven't heard anything, but I'm not holding my breath either. I'll give marketing a call soon and see what is up.

Mine is Sat at 10am, no word.

So they should arrive by this weekend? I highly doubt my dealer will get them at that time though since I live in deep south Texas :(

Just to give an update, just got off the phone with the ford marketing dept and they rescheduled me to Oct 25th... They said they've been informed that cars won't be at dealer till mid October.

Now that seems more realistic given what we know now. That would mean they probably start shipping out next week or the week after.

Local Dealer said same thing. Supposed to drive tomorrow at 10AM. No cars and not even on the list!

There's an Orange County auto show starting next week and they're having "ride and drives" which are basically test drives. According to their website, over 100 models will be part of this. I can almost guarantee that the new Mustang will be in the convention center, but I wonder if they're going to bring another one to be part of the "ride and drives".

My local dealer said any day now and should be before the end of the month. He also didn't know order banks opened until July 18 but luckily his boss put mine in on 5/30/14, no deposit. He seems to be much more knowledgeable now, fingers crossed but brain on let down alert. Feels like I will be sitting here, refreshing this page when world peace finally happens.

Well it is Vista in Oxnard, but the drive was arranged through Ford marketing. I called Ford today, and it became clear that the test drives are dependent on regular dealer stock orders which are not there yet and probably won't be for a few weeks. My drive was disappointingly delayed for three weeks to October 18th. At this point, I might do better checking dealer stock and calling dealers, because it appears Ford Marketing has no solid facts themselves.

I wonder if they will be at the Barrett Jackson Ride 'N Drives which kick off tomorrow morning at 9 and continue every day until the end of the auctions on Saturday night?

I'm going Saturday to see the last 1964 LE get auctioned. I'm very optimistic that there will be quite a few 2015 Mustangs at this event besides the LE being auctioned. Ford will have a display in the vendor display area and I can't imagine the car won't be heavily represented there too.

It's a very high profile automotive event, great exposure for the new car at just the right time.
