I headed out I-66 West towards Shenandoah National Park. I wanted to get up on Skyline Drive at dusk, see the sunset, and enjoy the drive at night. I also wanted to prove to myself I could drive up there in a sane, legal fashion.....without getting a massive speeding ticket. It was a beautiful evening, traffic was light, and I was simply enjoying the evening, the drive, my car and the right music. Getting out into the mountains is just a whole bunch of relaxation and de-stressing, more than worth the cost in gas.
Let me know if you plan on doing this drive in the spring sometime and want some company as I’ve yet to make it out there. This sounds like heaven, and discribes exactly how I feel about driving. I thoroughly enjoy waking up early on weekends and thundering through the mountain roads before the rest of the world arises. Or carving up some back roads as the sun goes down. It’s my go to for stress relief and to have an hour or two of pure enjoyment

So...this morning.

I'm up early, gotta drive into work. It's 14 miles, usually takes 45-60 minutes. It was raining, so knowing D.C. drivers, I left at 6:30AM. I figured I'd enjoy a clear run into work.

WRONG!!!

Some dip-s#@t must of been on his phone, and SLAMMED his POS Civic into the back of a pick-up on the bridge!!! I laughed and giggled at the look on that moron's face, how little damage to the truck bumper there was, and the absolutely destroyed front-end on his car. It created a bit of a back-up, but nothing to bad.

I actually enjoy driving in the rain, lights on (love the interior design and lighting on these cars, especially the gauges), great music playing, comfortable and warm.....the seats are so comfortable, the ride soaks-up the shit roads beautifully, Rain-X working like a champ.....all good.

I get to the 7-11 right next to my work, make my Blueberry coffee, go to pay for it...........awwwww hell, I forgot my wallet. And in my wallet are my keys to the store.

So I have to drive all the way back home, get me wallet, and drive all the way back to work. And this time, in the serious traffic.

And it wasn't bad at all. I actually enjoyed it, for the most part. Traffic was astonishingly not too bad.

My keys to the store will now be kept in the car, instead of my wallet. And I'll tuck my expired driver's license with them too, just to have it in case I need it. Since I can't seem to remember my wallet 100% of the time.
