Let me know if you plan on doing this drive in the spring sometime and want some company as I’ve yet to make it out there. This sounds like heaven, and discribes exactly how I feel about driving. I thoroughly enjoy waking up early on weekends and thundering through the mountain roads before the rest of the world arises. Or carving up some back roads as the sun goes down. It’s my go to for stress relief and to have an hour or two of pure enjoymentI headed out I-66 West towards Shenandoah National Park. I wanted to get up on Skyline Drive at dusk, see the sunset, and enjoy the drive at night. I also wanted to prove to myself I could drive up there in a sane, legal fashion.....without getting a massive speeding ticket. It was a beautiful evening, traffic was light, and I was simply enjoying the evening, the drive, my car and the right music. Getting out into the mountains is just a whole bunch of relaxation and de-stressing, more than worth the cost in gas.
