So I have been away from the forum for a while and wow has the local section really blown up! Great to see so many new stangs in the Mid Tn area.

My dilemma...

I seriously don't like the way the bottom of the front fascia doesn't protrude past the middle/top. The mustang looks to me to have a bit of an "overbite". If you look at the picture below, I genuinely prefer the Camaro front end.

The only solution I have seen so far is getting either a Steeda front clip (still slightly subdued) or a CDC front lip and paint it.

What do you guys think?

I'm waiting on the Steeda front bumper, there's really nothing else out there that I like except the Saleen front, but it would require painting a lot different than how Saleen does it for to buy in and them not to charge some obnoxious price for it. I think if you did the painted front lip you'd need to do some sort of sides to go along with it like the car pictured.

Have you considered a splitter? I'm not big on how most of them mount with the external bracing but still might be an option to help with the over bite.

Has anyone considered putting flat black vinyl in the middle bumper section to join the lower and upper grills?

A. I hate gloss vinyl. It swirls the instant you put the felt on it to install it.
B. I suck at doing vinyl.
C. If I want the roof black I'm going to have to paint it because I'm not happy with the look of the vinyl itself.
This really sucks to hear. I wonder if a professional has any issues with it knows how to prevent swirls in it?

At SEMA they had a ton of vinyl wrap displays, and one thing I noticed after seeing them up close is, Gloss wraps look like shit! The matte wraps looked excellent.

Maybe its the auto painter in me, but the gloss wraps just don't have what we refer to in the body shop as DOI (distinction of image). The lack of a high gloss reflection kind of Reminds me of a Single stage paint job(macco).

I'm no longer in the body shop but, I do have a friend that owns a shop here in Hendersonville, if you're looking to get the roof painted. He is also a mustang guy with a pretty sick Roush RS3 vert. I'm sure he'd shoot you a fair price for what should just be a scuff and shoot.

I've done some minor work in a body/paint shop before so I 100% understand what you're saying. It is VERY single stage looking. I had sort of dropped the idea since I'm very nervous leaving the car with a body shop because sadly, I know how most of them are and how nasty they get. If I could put my stock wheels back on and could roll up and have it taped, scuffed and sprayed in a day I'd be more motivated. I think for now I'm going to see how the car looks after I get some other cosmetic parts on and if I still feel like I want the roof done I'll definitely get with you because finding a painter you can trust is a nightmare. Actually.... I need to find one anyone because I have to get the fenders I just ordered painted. So yeah.... let's get together on his contact info :)

Nick and I will be doing some suspension work on his car this Saturday at my house. As of now I have sent PM's to DarkSubRosa, ManBearPig and Murdered_s550 giving them my address. If you are interested in swinging by and hanging out let me know and I will shoot you a PM with my info.
