Yeah, I make it a point to go straight in the garage after washing if I'm planning on having the car sit for a while. A quick trip down the road and back leaves s nice layer of dust.

Have you verified you don't have any leaks in your exhaust up at the header flanges and down at the collectors?
Yeah my superman mechanic buddy (the one that came on the Holley plant tour with me) gave it a look over and gave me the thumbs up and good job. Once he approves something I don't question it.

I pretty much wash the car after every drive, it might be the next day but it typically gets driven, gets washed, rinse and repeat.

I've got about 400 to spend on some car parts. What would be the best way to spend it to change the feel of the car? I was thinking maybe the apr front splitter? Or should I go more of the performance route and change out the sway bars for the Steeda ones? Having the stock intercooler I was thinking about maybe trying to snag the MAPerformance intercooler, but that might be a stretch. What do you guys think would be the best way to spend it to have a new feel to the car?

Based on your sig you've got most of the small to medium budget items. Maybe lowering springs or a different grille?

Glad to hear. Header leaks ( especially at the flange) can be a real nightmare. Really hoping I don't have to face any. But I'm starting to think headers may not be as soon for me as I was thinking. Can you get away with longtubes without a tune if you use o2 sims? I'm sure you won't see as much in the way of performance gains but I'd imagine the car would still be fine without it. I haven't put a set of headers on a car since my last LS1. Never tuned it afterward and it always ran strong.

Depends on what you're into, straight line speed or cornering? If you like the twisty's the sways are good way to go, plus they are adjustable!

Good luck finding an 02 sim, ever since the feds really started coming down on them they are almost impossible to find, or at least they were when I put headers on our QX56 that we had. Luckily the Stillen ones came with an 02 sim so I didn't have to try to locate a third party one. I was having a really hard time trying to find one. I doubt I'd go through all the trouble of the headers without an intake and tune.

How much timing was being pulled on your car before with the knock? I'm seeing about 6 degrees of advance at WOT on mine. I finally got the ngauge back out when I flashed the flex fuel tune and updated my firmware. I started looking at my KNOCKR parameter and I'm seeing nothing but advance, no retard.

John asked me to run data logs in 3rd gear, 2500-7200 rpm. I saw up to about 2.5 degrees of +KnockR. I installed the CAI, headers, and tuner all in one shot. I'm not running the flex tune, so I'm not really familiar with it, but I am slightly leery on how aggressive the tune can be since its monitoring fuel quality. I'm sure it's fine, but there will be massive swings in spark tables between 93 and E85..

I know my bottom end drivability improved GREATLY on corn. Much more timing advance off idle than before with petrol.

It pulls substantially better on corn than ever before. I did still have a little knockR after switching to ethanol. He took care of it with the tune, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't just pull a little timing out..

It runs great, but I lost about 20% economy. I gained about 25% in fuel cost reduction-so I'm actually a little better on cost than I expected.

I haven't seen any retard since the last tune, and am pretty satisfied for right now. I'm still kicking around the thought of saving for a Z06 or GT350, or adding a whipple/pair of twins. I just know that even with my better tires (Bridgestone S04 pole positions), traction at the top of second is still poor.

I would like to do a grill delete maybe, but I'd probably just do it myself and see how it turns out. I can't really justify 300 dollars for someone to just cut out a grill. I also wanted to test out the springs before I chose them. I know a couple of the guys said I could ride in their car and feel the difference in springs, so I would probably hold off on Springs.

Now that I think about it I may just go with a Cobb tuner. You are tuned I belive. Do you ever go to the dealership? The only thing stopping me from the AP is voiding my warranty. Does the key cycle after returning back to stock actually keep them from questioning your ecu. If you take it to a dealership which one and are they mod friendly?

I doubt the tune is any less aggressive, so far it looks like everybody is seeing about the same gains on the FF tune vs the straight E85 tune. The fuel quality is measured post consumption and takes it just a tad of time to adjust which is why he says to run it and let it adjust before going WOT. I'll probably run a tank of E85 through it when I know I can burn off an entire tank and not let it sit.

I'm seeing 3-4 degrees of advance under certain load and up to 6 at WOT but haven't seen any retard yet. So it sounds like I'm pretty much in the clear. If you're happy with this chassis, I'm not sure it's worth doing the Shelby, if you're going to FI the GT. If you're considering a C7 Z06, well those things are just badass. The only negative thing I've really seen on them is overheating on the tracks and some reliability issues. If I could afford a 6 figure car though, there's a ton of options in that range.

The thing I worry about the most is I want a whipple but I'm already having traction problems and that isn't going to help and am at about the max width of tire I can get.

I let the dealership in Franklin try to align my car and I got it back with a chip on the shock tower where they put a pry bar on my upper mount. They were super careful with my wheels though. I just won't go back unless absolutely necessary. Once it's flashed they can tell even if you flash back to stock. I'm just not sure how mod friendly the dealers are around here.

I've not looked into it on these cars so maybe this is a dumb suggestion....but for those that are tuned and are concerned about warranty, is it feasible to buy a second PCM and put a desireable tune on it, and swap back to the factory PCM in the event you need to take the car in for warranty work?

I know it's not apples to apples, but on my F350 I could have the PCM out of the truck in 20 minutes or less.

Just a thought.

I will be talking to the Two Rivers service manager about this when I pick up the car.

What do you mean by that? Is the drive ability with an aftermarket tune not as smooth as the OEM tune? How does your E85 tune compare to the factory tune in terms of smoothness snd drive ability?

I had a poor tuning experience on a car one time ( poor drive ability) and have been spooked to try aftermarket tuning since.

I think Nuc is just saying that the Ethanol burns a lot cleaner and is closer to a race fuel so it's probably packing a little more punch in the lower rpms now and pulling harder to the top of the power range. The feels exactly like it did stock with my Lund tune on pump gas as far as drivability, nothing changes, it's just making more power. Lund doesn't get known as well as they are by putting out unreliable tunes.

As far as the PCM thing and switching them out, I'm not sure how that will work with how things are so coded and specific to each vehicle now if Ford would issue a new one.

I was reading posts on the Tune + ecoboost group on Facebook, and one person was running a livernois tune and other bolt ons. He was going to sell his car so be flashed back to stock, but then about 2,000 miles later his engine blew up. The tune had nothing to do with it as it had been on the stock tune for 2 months before it occurred. He blew a rod in his engine. Ford did all kinds of tests on it but never gave him an exact reason, but more than likely due to Lspi. They tore his motor down and everything, but Ford ended up replacing his motor. How is the possible if they are able to tell if you reflash back to stock? Wouldn't that automatically be terms to deny the warranty since it had previously been tuned?
