What do you mean by that? Is the drive ability with an aftermarket tune not as smooth as the OEM tune? How does your E85 tune compare to the factory tune in terms of smoothness snd drive ability?

I had a poor tuning experience on a car one time ( poor drive ability) and have been spooked to try aftermarket tuning since.

It never dropped below stock, WRT bottom end pull-smoothness-etc...

But the ethanol allows SO much more timing to be added at low RPMs, it feels like it has 20 more lb-ft of torque at 1000 RPMs. Part throttle pull towards the bottom of the range was a step up with the Lund 93 octane, but it felt like a different car when I switched. That was the biggest thing I took away from the conversion.

Merry Christmas guys! I wanted to show what Santa brought me.. My wife and I have a limit on what we spend on each other to focus on the kids, but she hit a home run!

Merry Christmas to all of you! Nuc with being heavily modded do you ever go back to the dealership or do you just take care of everything yourself?

I haven't been back-I prefer to not let other people touch my car anyway. It's just part of the risk we take, but I don't throw caution to the wind-ie I'm not gonna go dump the clutch at a highly prepped track because I don't wanna break half-shafts, but that doesn't stop me from playing-when I get to that point-I'll just buy shafts and put them in.

Electrical gremlins are different, but I don't think the dealer would be able to dishonor warranty claims on an alternator because I have headers.. Who knows?

I've never really kept cars long enough to worry about those things. Usually about 2-3 years-then swapping to something else. Every car has that threshold where your bang for the buck drops markedly.. Usually that's where I get a little smarter and realize I'll never get that kind of money out of the car, so I swap.

I realized a while ago that I don't really care about having a nice car, I like making a nice car.. When the mods start to become extravagantly expensive-I cut bait and change.

This means I'll likely never have the best version of my car (someone else's is always done to the nth degree), but I'm ok with that. I still like to dream, I just try to have a vision for my car-something different from what I see everyday.

BTW, I'm 36 years old and have had 42 vehicles...

Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like once you are willing to get tuned, e85 is the way to go. Does it have any big downsides that I'm missing?

And it sounds like you've had a crapload of cars. I thought I had been through a lot but I'm only at 16. I'm 28 but I've slowed waaaay down. I actually intend to hold onto this one forever. But it will always be a 4th car. I've got a cousin who is 40 years old and has had over 100 cars. To be fair, a lot of those were his wife's. But close to half have been Mustangs.

Santa brought me some G2 paint, springs and a license plate frame.

I'm 46 and the Mustang is my 10th ride. This is my first car since high school. Has been all trucks since then.

I was reading posts on the Tune + ecoboost group on Facebook, and one person was running a livernois tune and other bolt ons. He was going to sell his car so be flashed back to stock, but then about 2,000 miles later his engine blew up. The tune had nothing to do with it as it had been on the stock tune for 2 months before it occurred. He blew a rod in his engine. Ford did all kinds of tests on it but never gave him an exact reason, but more than likely due to Lspi. They tore his motor down and everything, but Ford ended up replacing his motor. How is the possible if they are able to tell if you reflash back to stock? Wouldn't that automatically be terms to deny the warranty since it had previously been tuned?

Everything is logged one way or another. They can see there has been changes to the PCM. As long as the customer hasn't been an asshole they will probably look for the actual cause and not look for a tune or something unless given reason. If they found something that looked suspicious and caused by a tune then they would probably start looking into the PCM. They aren't out to get anyone but to find actual issues and address them so they don't deal with more motors being blown due to a factory issue.

 My IAT's have went back to about 10 above ambient since installing my reisch thermostat since the engine isn't getting over 190 and the fans aren't stirring up all that hot air.

Found a good deal on roush side scoops. Does anyone know how close unpainted matches the black mustangs? Is it a drastic difference?
