I'm needing to get more room to access the back of my 5 gen whipple. For whatever reason the IAT will not come out and I have a boost gauge I want to install. I did try it with the car cold, warned up, and used a heat gun. I did grease the threads and didn't over torque it on install. I think I just need some more room to work. With thatsthat can I just take off the cover, remove the lower bolts, remove the belt, and move the unit forward? If not I'm guessing I'll need to drain the coolant so I can remove all the lines and then do the above steps?

There should be no issue with you removing he cover and flipping it forward on the header panel, we've done it a bunch of times to temporarily pull the blower.

I had issues removing the IAT on my Edelbrock 2650 (different blower similar layout). They use a red loctite type paste on the sensors and they don't like to budge. I tried penetrating oil, heat, all the old tricks, didn't budge. Ultimately somebody somewhere told me that brake cleaner dissolves loctite. I got a can with a straw and put a drop at a time on the threads with a rag underneath until it turned freely. Might be worth a shot (if you can reach it, not familiar with the Whipples) before you remove the blower.
