As most of you already knew the dealer whipped out his TSB stating that the noise of my complaint is totally normal. We also drive a used '19 like mine and it had the same gut wrenching, obnoxious sound ... now what? Live with it? Turn up the radio? Louder exhaust? I'm edging towards the latter. Your thoughts .... ?

Stay in the throttle more, less light throttle situations, keep revs over 3k, run 5w30, turn up the music, both audio and exhaust and enjoy!

May also want to try a bottle of ceratec.

Bulldog .... I like it!!
Will definitely try staying in it more and keep the revs up this morning on my way to work. I am thinking I'm going to add a Borla Switchfire to my exhaust notes. 5w 30 makes sense too on my next change.
I have some Ceratec on order and will let you know the result.
Appreciate you!!

Use Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 and Liqui Moly Ceratec on every oil change.

You guys using the Ceratec, are you using one 300ml bottle or 2? The directions say one bottle will treat 5 quarts. I only used one bottle and I could tell an immediate difference, I wonder if the 2nd bottle would make an even bigger difference?

Using 1 per oil change.

I do 2 bottles, but do it every other oil change. Even that is more than needed per the directions. Doing an oil change this weekend even. Have it on the shelf waiting.

I’m experiencing this as well. I only took it to the dealer just so there’s documentation about the complaint while I’m still under the power train warranty. It’s a ‘19 with 19k miles. Bad thing is, the dealer is so backed up it’s been 2 days and they haven’t even looked at the car yet. I’m definitely missing the car, but like I said I at least want documentation about the noise in case something happens after the warranty.

I took mine to the dealer for the same reason. It took 3 days. BTW, I added a bottle of Ceratec without any improvement. Considering adding a second. Will report back.

From what I read Ceratec won’t help the 2k rattle, but the type writer tick at idle it does

Just got a call from the dealer regarding my rattle at 2k. The technician believes the noise is related to the VCT solenoids or the phasers. They are keeping the car to start to tear into it to see what is the issue. Thankfully I didn’t ignore this like everyone else because they are covering whatever it is under the warranty.

Good luck. They will probably replace a few things and then decide they can’t figure it out, then give up. Seems to be the common story.

Mine’s had the 2K rattle since new in 2018. Still rattling and still running strong. No way I’d let them tear into my engine unless I thought there was really something wrong. Good luck!
