Just completed a survey from Morpace about future Sync options. Basically asked about Nav./Wi-fi/4G/ upgrades and updates. Asked what I would pay for those kind of upgrades, which I had no idea of since I am really not into all that stuff. The prices I suggested to pay are probably nothing to what they should be, but, I just put in amounts that I could think of. The one thing you couldn't enter for a dollar amount was "0". Which I think for some of the upgrades should be "free" or "standard"
Anybody else get this survey?

I have not, but being in the family business of market research I can tell you its the perfect opportunity to tell them you would expect all that as standard on a car made in 2016. In other words $0 (or $1, since it wouldn't let you)

I didnt want Sync.

Havent used it once since I got the car back in August.

I got stuck with it simply because I wanted leather seats and the larger screen.

Fact is I hate Sync and all the electronic crap. Strip the "voice" and phone buttons on the steering wheel and give me an "up/down" button for going up and down folders on my USB device.

Done.

I actually started it yesterday in a moment of weakness thinking I might be able to contribute some useful feedback. I got about five questions in, which were all about ME, and said screw it when asked about my cell phone data plan. Plus they wouldn't let you pass by a question if you didn't feel comfortable answering it.

If Ford wants my honest option regarding their product they can call me. They've got my number and address...

I was able to provide feedback at the end. I also chose the lowest amounts possible, since $0 wasn't an option. For $900 you can buy a lot of computing power. They might as well just dumb it down, so the phone can take over. The map updates are already $95 too much. You might as well buy a dedicated GPS (many come with 10 year upgrades now) for much less. Are you hearing this Ford? I think they do so many things well, but technology for some reason isn't one of them. Also, not sure if its done because of a law, but for christ sake take away the nanny controls, my passenger cant even enter an address, even though the car is smart enough to activate the airbag when one heavy enough is present. WTF

you need to create a dev platform to allow other companies to build apps for your vehicles.

They've had that for a while: https://developer.ford.com/

I believe their past keynotes are on YouTube for CES but I could be mistaken. I just hope they dumb down their cars and just let smart phones take over.
