So i love this car, the only thing that makes me mad about it is Sync. Let me describe my pet peeve to see if anyone else is having this happen. (i have the base model)

So i listen to either bluetooth audio or the usb stick. And at first i was excited because the mustang remembers what you were listening too when you get back in the car. (my 2011 f150 does not, you have to verbally select bluetooth audio or usb EVERY TIME you get in the car)

But every 10th time or so, it just forgets what it was doing. Maybe the phone isnt ready fast enough, or the usb drive is indexing or something. But it just defaults to AM radio, and i have to go through the selection process again. Sometimes it will play AM radio for a few seconds then switch to bluetooth, but usually its just lost and i have to select again.

I cant get it to happen on purpose. I can almost always get it to happen by showing my car to someone i am trying to impress, i start the car and some crazy AM station comes on blaring staticy talk radio.
Worst partnership for Ford. All of the sync rot! I went to use, and since on all my Fords and since then no more issues.

Just to contribute to the general database, I'm using a Sandisk Cruzer Fit, 64GB, with just under 4000 songs, a mixture of MP3 and AAC. It seems to always be indexing and so far only seems to play songs from A-C when I choose shuffle. I can specify an artist by voice command to get to some further down the alphabet.

I've tried the port in the armrest console, and am currently running it from the port at the bottom of the center stack.

My problem with SYNC is when shifting out of reverse. The sync screen goes to the phone home page (not to be confused with e.t. phone home) and the screen is unresponsive. Thank you for the number Rachel. I'll definitely be making a call in the morning.
You got it, ariv281. Did you contact our IVT team?

Same here. It was just slow initially, but it worked. Now it refuses to play anything in my iPhone. This is ticking me off enough to give the car back.

I have a friend that is a Lincoln service tech. He has said in the past that iphones and sync do have occasional issues with freezing up.

this really pissed me off at first too, seems like its an IOS 8 issue from the research i did. not only on sync but also tend to happen in other brands. heres what worked for me hope it works for you as well.

first try to have sync "forget" your iphone, also go to your iphone's bluetooth settings, and have the phone "forget" SYNC.
next reconnect both sync and iphone

if that does not work the next step is sure to work
have SYNC "forget" your iphone

go to your iphone>general>reset

your iphone settings will be reset, keep in mind you will not lose messages, contact, pictures, apps etc. however any apps you are logged in, favorites, history will be cleared. now reattempt to connect SYNC and your iphone.

i hope this works!

Yes mine seems a bit buggy too. Occasionally it forgets where it is or takes a long time to sync up. And one time it only wanted to play three songs from 1 album and I couldn't get it to play all or shuffle all or play a different artist without a full shutdown.

But mine defaults to FM, which is better at least than defaulting to AM.
